UECHAO HOTEL ★★★★★
"Excellent stay! The surf pool being right below the lobby was super convenient. The front desk staff were great, they even upgraded my room and had food deliveries brought straight to my door. All the room amenities were smart-controlled, and they provided Balmain toiletries. Had a fantastic experience, would definitely come back if I get the chance."
Wanning Riyuewan Shangyi Seaview Surf Apartment ★★★
"The place was clean, they only supplied disposable towels, elevators very busy, I won’t stay at this location again, not worth the money, I could’ve stayed in a Hotel with more amenities for the same price"
Shangmu · ISA Full Suite Surfing Ocean View Resort Meisu (Wanning Sun Moon Bay Rongchuang Store) ★★★
"Service: Shuttle service was very prompt. Environment: The location by the sea is very comfortable. Hygiene: Facilities are very clean, and it's cleaned daily."
Blossom Harbor Riyue Bay Wanning ★★★★
"The environment is comfortable, and the owner even provided complimentary welcome fruits and a late-night sweet soup. The location is also excellent, right next to the bar street. I'd definitely recommend it to friends."
DoubleTree by Hilton Hainan-Xinglong Lakeside ★★★★★
"Terrible! Not just bad, but truly awful!! As a Hilton brand, and having stayed at many DoubleTree hotels in other cities, I've never seen one so poorly maintained. While prices soared during the May Day holiday, we got a worse experience than even a budget hotel. Families with kids, absolutely avoid this place! If you're looking for a relaxing vacation, stay far away!! - Check-in experience: Arrived on the afternoon of May 2nd. First, Trip.com had reserved for three guests, but the front desk claimed they couldn't find the order. Once found, they said Trip.com only gives one random name to the hotel, not all three—really? The front desk staff was cold and unhelpful, offering no information about hotel facilities, breakfast times, or kid-friendly amenities. After check-in, they didn't even direct us to the elevators. What's worse, our entire luggage cart sat quietly at the entrance, unattended, and we had to specifically call a bellhop to take it to our room. - Room facilities: Firstly, the hotel lobby and public areas were extremely hot. While many hotels in Hainan have open lobbies, this one was particularly hot and stuffy. We booked connecting rooms, which were located at the farthest end of Building 1. I'm unclear why we were assigned such a distant room, especially with a 90-year-old in our party. The first impression upon entering both connecting rooms was a strong musty smell. The twin room's air conditioning was ineffective; neither AC unit in both rooms was powerful enough to remove moisture from the air. This hotel isn't even beachfront, so why the humidity issue? - Hot spring experience: First of all, only 5 of the supposedly 7 outdoor hot spring pools were open that night. The largest pool was still quite small, and even with 5 people, it felt crowded. After soaking that evening, our 3-year-old and all three adults experienced varying degrees of skin itchiness. See pictures three and four – I'm unsure if it was due to the hot springs or damp bedding in the room. - Room service for items: This was a major, outrageous complaint about this hotel⚠️ I understand that the May Day holiday is busy, but isn't this kind of busy-ness predictable? Isn't holiday busy-ness common sense? Are there no contingency plans? For a supposedly 5-star international brand hotel, it took nearly 2 hours to get 10 hangers, from the first call until they finally arrived. We called three times and inquired at the front desk once, each time receiving a different, illogical answer. And at 0:10 AM, I was told by the only night shift staff at the front desk that the hotel has no on-duty manager at night—seriously? Aren't you worried if a guest has an emergency and there's no one available to resolve the issue? - Sleep experience: Extremely poor! On the first night, due to skin itching and a room full of mosquitoes, we were hunting mosquitoes with flashlights at 2 AM – it was ridiculous!! Our child was bitten five or six times, and the two adults were bitten over a dozen times. I don't care if the hotel is near a botanical garden or if the public corridors are open; I challenge the hotel general manager to try staying in one of their own rooms and fighting mosquitoes like that in the middle of the night. We finally fell asleep at 4:30 AM, haha. - Children's facilities: During the May Day holiday, the main children's playground was closed for maintenance. I could only shake my head and smile; what's going on with management's thinking? The old, rusty small train not only runs only at scheduled times but also costs 30 yuan per ride – are you serious? We couldn't even try the swimming pool; our skin was so irritated that we didn't dare go into the water. - Complaint feedback: On the afternoon of May 3rd, I contacted the front desk to request a meeting with the Director of Rooms or higher management. We eventually met with the Front Office Manager, Sarah – I guess the directors and general manager were all on holiday :). After I provided the above information, it was clear she felt quite helpless. After discussing the information, my request was that since a good night's sleep is the most basic requirement for accommodation, and we were tossing and turning until 4:30 AM on the first night, we asked for a refund of the first night's room charge as this basic need wasn't met. After almost a day of communication, the hotel was unable to meet my request, and I don't need any other additional compensation. So please, don't even think about trying to make amends after we've checked out; you've already lost that opportunity. - Dining experience: Breakfast was decent, meeting expectations for a hotel of this type, but nothing stood out. On the 3rd, because of the restless night before, we missed breakfast and tried lunch at the Chinese restaurant. The set meal for two for over 300 yuan was good value, and the food quality was also good. Unfortunately, even the Chinese restaurant had insufficient air conditioning, making us sweat while eating. - Check-out experience: Logically, a room number that has had a complaint should be flagged by both the front desk and bell services, right? Well, unfortunately, when my wife went to check out, the front desk paid no attention and made no attempt to offer any further compensation, probably because they weren't even aware of the issue. Or perhaps they've become desensitized to complaints? It wasn't until I walked over that Sarah saw me and immediately took over. The other young women, however, had clear yet vacant eyes. - Overall rating: Very poor! I will definitely not return and will warn everyone coming to Wanning to avoid this hotel. A hotel opened in 2018, and you can see for yourselves from the pictures how poorly the details are maintained. If an international brand hotel of this age can't even maintain its hardware, what can be said for its software? Cost-cutting at the expense of quality reflects management's incompetence, so why should guests pay the price? How many negative reviews about hygiene will it take for the hotel's management to see the root of the problem? I hope these experiences can help travelers who are considering this hotel but haven't gone yet. Spending money on a hotel and not even being able to get a good night's sleep – there's nothing else to talk about. Well, thank you, DoubleTree by Hilton Xinglong, goodbye👋 I won't be back."
Four Points By Sheraton Shenzhou Peninsula ★★★★★
"The facilities are old, many are broken, and the hygiene is quite poor; the room had a strange odor. I took my child to the pool, and I brought a swimming float. I left it with the staff temporarily, but when I went to pick it up, they said it was lost. I then found another child using it. I asked the staff to get it back for me, but they were very impatient and refused to go. I had to go myself to retrieve it. Also, I had booked a travel photography package, thinking it was at this hotel, but it turned out to be at another Sheraton. When I asked the front desk, they said they don't offer many services here, and all services are at the other hotel. This was such a rip-off for over a thousand yuan."
Hainan Banshan Banhai hotel ★★★
"Wang Xinxin arranged a sea-view room with a great view. The service was excellent, and the hotel's location was super convenient, with the sea right outside the door."
White Space Leave blank | Jianye Holiday Homestay (Wanning Shimei Bay Island Tourist Highway Store) ★★★
"I like the environment here very much. It is full of vitality and green. The bathtub cover, disposable towels and toilet pads in the room type are all available. The details are relatively online. Sleeping at night is quieter. It will not be noisy away from the block. If you travel, the housekeeper will configure a small eDonkey for you. It takes only a few minutes to ride to the beach. It is very fast and convenient. The little brother will also make coffee here. The taste is also very good. It will also provide a play guide here. Overall, it is very recommended."
Wanning Half-Mountain Seacliff Lighthouse Pool Villa (Shenzhou Peninsula Potougang Branch) ★★★★
"After much deliberation between Shenzhou Peninsula and Riyue Bay, we finally decided on Shenzhou Peninsula, and this hotel truly exceeded our expectations. It's really good and very affordable. Upon arrival, you first check in at Banshan Banhai, and then a shuttle bus takes you to the front desk for check-in and to your room. The service was surprisingly excellent, and the room was spotlessly clean."
