an excellent hotel with excellent service. We had 5 rooms reserved at the hotel. We left the hotel to go to Ravenna via the trains. We left our Apple air pods in of one the rooms. The gentleman from the front desk (morning shift - sorry I don’t remember his name) on his own walked over the train station, tracked us down and surprised us to give us the air pods. I travel a lot and have never seen such exceptional service. Literally, because of his level of exceptional service from when we checked in to now, we decided to change our hotels (when we return from the cruise) to stay again at The Carlton because of his above and beyond attitude. Thank you for your hospitality and outstanding experience from the point of when we first checked in.

Everything was great. We took a water taxi from the airport to the hotel, the dock was right in front of the hotel which was very nice since we arrived late at night.
The only thing can get improved was wifi, sometimes it was hard to get the signal in the room.

The accommodations are beautiful. Generally speaking, the whole hotel is beautiful and the staff and the service is very forthcoming. 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because of the breakfast. The waiting time is just way too long. We were waiting for approximately an hour and haven’t even gotten something to drink, while others were waiting for an hour to get bread (we left after 50min without getting something to drink). Would recommend the hotel but not its breakfast, unless you have a lot of time to spare.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights, the first night was in the middle of the night, the bed was very warm, the room and bathroom space were OK. The hotel is about 600 meters away from the pier, more than 1000 meters from the beach, the pier and the beach are on both sides of Lido Island, Lido Island is long and narrow, about 1500 meters from the side of the island to the other side . The front door of the hotel is a step, the luggage needs to be lifted up, and the hotel elevator is a space for one person and one baggage. The Venice sea bus is a one-day ticket, a 2-day ticket or a 3-day ticket. If you go directly to the train station or airport, you don't need to buy that kind of day ticket, but you can buy a one-way ticket. There is a Chinese restaurant about 500 meters away from the hotel. The owner is Wenzhou. The people are very friendly and welcoming. It is impossible for foreign Chinese food to taste the taste of the family, so you can't expect too much. There is a small supermarket near the hotel with fruits and vegetables and others, and I really want to eat vegetable salad. There are a lot of food on both sides of the street, and the price is not very expensive.

Great location, need a refresh, very dated and tired looking decorations. Told front desk my air fin was not working , they were to send someone but no one came, extractor fan in bath room not working. They don’t seem to have checks in place to improve their customer stay experience , rather a reactive approach to fixing things. Cleaners could easily check facilities and report and malfunctions as customers don’t always provide feedback.

Very neat and friendly environment. Amazing staff ready for guest's enquiries. My earlier perception of how the hostel would look completely vanished. Very comfortable beds. Good discipline among the guests. However, renting Towels at €5 seemed ridiculous to me. And also, Duvet covers should be provided instead of the additional bed sheet given. Nevertheless, I enjoyed staying and hope to return when visiting Italy again.

We chose because airport transfer is free. It is very convenient because there is a supermarket just a short walk away. The room is relatively large, functional and easy to use. The lobby is also nice, but it is a pity that the Chinese occupy the lobby. There are quite a few from the airport. In the case of pick-up, ask the hotel by e-mail in advance.

XXieBXGreat location to stay outside of Venice. Easy to take a train to Venice as train station is within walking distance from hotel. If you drive, free parking behind the hotel. The hotel room is clean & comfortable, breakfast spread is quite decent & delicious. One of the popular hotel in Mestre.
GGuest UserI really enjoyed my stay at the Santa Lucia - all the staff were delightful and very eager to help (special shout-out to Angela on the front desk!) and my room was delightful, with all the amenities I needed. It is incredibly close to the Piazzale Roma, where all the buses from the mainland arrive, so very easy to make my way there once I arrived from the airport, and it's right on the Grand Canal, so amazing views every time I stepped out of the front doors! I would say: in terms of location, it's on the opposite side of Venice to St Mark's, so it was about a 30-min walk there, which I never minded, as Venice is so beautiful, but just to keep in mind! However, for an expensive city, I thought the Santa Lucia was a lovely, affordable place, and would definitely recommend it.
GGuest UserWhen we arrived we realised that all the previous reviews were correct. The area is not safe at all and there are men hanging around on the corner of the hotel for hours on end. I know this isn’t the hotels fault, however, there’s no extra security in place and hotel reception staff aren’t 24/7. On the 3rd night, due to there not being aircon, we had to leave the window open (these windows open 2 different ways - like a normal window or a safety way where only the top opens towards the room). At 3.30am we were woken up to an intruder who was trying to break into our room through trying to open the window from the outside by using a metal screwdriver to open it. We had to shout, scream and push the door shut and as two ladies in a room we couldn’t get back to sleep. There was no phone in the room to contact reception, which wouldn’t have mattered anyway as there was no one around. It was horrible & when we tried to tell the lady at reception the next day, she didn’t do anything, just said she’d check the cameras like she didn’t believe us. We were in such a hurry to leave the hotel. We were in a room separate from the main hotel, down the road, which looked like old council flats. The room itself is very basic. Nothing in the mini fridge, our window was broken on the first day and we had to wait 30 minutes for a handy man to come and fix it. We only got one pillow and even though we asked for another one, we never got it. The beds were really hard and our bedding wasn’t changed, just made everyday. The shower was exceptionally small but it was powerful. you can hear every single thing that happens in the rooms next door. We were woken up by people showering in different rooms at 6am. The breakfast is very dissatisfying. There are two sittings - on our first day the breakfast lady refused us entry as our names hadn’t been put on the sheet where you have to say which sitting - an error by the reception staff as we had booked the night before. The breakfast itself had all ran out by the time we were able to sit down. 1 bit of cheese left and no fruit. Very basic so we decided to get breakfast out the next day. As there are no reception staff, we couldn’t check out before 8am, however we had to be at the airport for 8.30 so we went to reception to hand the key back in. The lady was very rude and told us we should’ve checked out last night? How would we have got into our room? she also was rude and told us that we should’ve booked our taxi the night before too (even though the previous staff who were very helpful said come to reception in the morning. We left feeling very unsafe and worried that we hadn’t been able to check out. We were hoping to speak to the manager but the woman just walked away. It’s such a shame as the younger staff were really helpful and friendly at the start. But it’s not safe - I wouldn’t feel safe on my own and I didn’t feel safe with two of us. It is close to the train station, but you don’t feel safe walking there
GGuest UserHad a 2 night stay booked in the Hilton Stucky, in a Club room, Venice. Arrived at 11am as we just came off a cruise. Unable to check in till 3pm which was unfortunate. Got access to the executive lounge and to say I was disappointed is an understatement, looks like a corridor off the main lounge, as there was no solid divider the noise was too much, have used Hilton brand around the world and as a past Diamond member, was left disappointed with this one. After checking in at 3pm we went to the room, 3rd floor, take something to leave a trail as there are many corridors to navigate to get to the room. The suit was large and tidy, but overall it looked dated & tiered Plenty storage Bathroom was large with Bath & shower, problems with them draining. Also a lot of mould in shower Not that I watch a lot of Tv, but only 3 English channels, 2 news programs Take plenty of bug spray, as lots of bugs in the hotel and they bite a lot Good shuttle into St Marks, every 30mins, only takes 39 pax at a time, so beware at busy times. Never ate in the hotel, so cannot comment. Sky bar gives excellent views over Venice and bar staff very friendly. Does get busy
GGuest UserIt was a nice experience overall. There is a €3.60 city tax per person per night that's added on and can only be paid in cash which was inconvenient. There is tea/coffee provided in the room, however, they also charge to refill them if you use any. Breakfast is an extra €5 per person and breakfast lasts less than 3 hours (7am-9:45am) which is a bit inconvenient if you want to sleep in or if you have to get up early. The desk staff is moderately friendly. When we first arrived they weren't too friendly but the evening and check out attendants were nicer. The room is pretty small and really only enough room to eat around the perimeter of the bed. The bathroom is decently sized, however, the shower didn't have a door so water pools out onto the floor unless you huddle close to the shower head and even then... The TV is very small and not easily seen if you are vision impaired. My biggest complaint, however, is how hard the bed was. There's little to no cushion on the mattress. I woke up both mornings I was there and had back and hip pain (I'm 28 yrs old in relatively good physical condition). It is close to sleeping on the floor. There was a closet with a nice amount of space to put our things. There is also am elevator to access the floors which was convenient on days that we walked a ton. The lobby is nice and clean and has some seating areas. We did not explore the bar or breakfast areas. The hotel itself is located near the water bus station for easy access to Venice. It is also on a strip of shops and restaurants. Granted most things on the island of Lido do close early and a lot of them are temporarily closed but still marked as open on Google maps. Plan accordingly and call places ahead of time. I've included pictures of the bathroom which was overall nice, however, I didn't take pictures of the bedroom as it was small and hard to get a good angle.
GGuest UserWe were very worried about staying in this hotel after reading some of the reviews but we had a good experience when we arrived. The hotel is only two stops on the water bus from the airport and was very easy to get to. In the local area there are lots of good bars and restaurants. We especially enjoyed al parlamento which is just across from the hotel - lovely pizza and cocktails! In the hotel we found a hot shower, clean towels everyday and working air-con. The decor is very dated and could do with an update but this is a budget hotel. The breakfast is very basic and we only ate it 2 out of the 4 days we stayed. If you are looking for a large meal to set you up for the day you will be disappointed but if you need a quick coffee then it’s fine. As it was a city break we only really used the hotel for sleeping at night and it is fine for this. If you intend to spend more of the day there then perhaps pay extra for a more expensive hotel. Overall I think you get what you pay for in this hotel.
AAnonymous UserVery good experience in this hotel. The very large and clean room. The staff very careful and have gluten-free food. Furthermore, it is very close to the Academia bridge that crosses the great channel. They also have a restaurant in the same hotel. I therefore recommend it 100%.
GGuest UserWe stayed in these apartments in September and gave us the 9. A apartment that used the top of 7 and 8 and there they put you. A bed under a roof that you had to enter cats. A kitchen that could not cook standing. If you measure 1.60 you are certainly okay, but if you are high@, forget. A room without lift, though ll of the lifts is something normal there. But the full, is that with towels put dressing or coats, I still don't know it was. We asked for change but they said they were complete and said this, they are towels (for them).
