"During my stay, a restful sleep was out of the question: a wedding taking place both indoors and outdoors directly below our room caused deafening noise well past midnight. Even with earplugs, falling asleep before 1:30 a.m. was impossible. In the morning, I was completely exhausted, which made the seven-hour drive back to Munich extremely tiring. For a hotel in a quiet location, which I had specifically booked to relax after a business meeting and before this long journey, this was absolutely unacceptable. My complaint at checkout was not handled in a customer-oriented manner. During events of this kind, the rooms directly above should definitely not be rented out to external guests. Unfortunately, this hotel seems more interested in maximizing profits than in the satisfaction of its guests. Another drawback: the Wi-Fi reception in the room was practically unusable. I had to set up my own 5G hotspot via my smartphone to be able to work on my laptop. At checkout, my billing information, which I had already entered during online check-in, had to be entered again – making the online check-in process with its pre-requested data pointless. On the positive side, the hotel boasts a pleasant location in a green setting and a decent breakfast buffet. However, these points were in no way sufficient to compensate for the significant shortcomings, so I unfortunately will not be booking here again."

"It's of course very dependent on your expectation, but don't expect much, there's no occupation, no reception, no bar, no lobby, no drink or snack machine, so you'll have to go over the street, to a supermarket to eat or drink, because there was no bar in the vicinity at that time. Rooms old, small TV and old bathroom, where you can shower in a bathroom, where you can't stand up due to the sweet roof. Breakfast, doubt do everything possible and was fine on its own. To the room is a little careful, wirwar of walks and stairs ... It is not acceptable for repeat."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Stüttgens hotel in Velbert, especially the personal, individual approach. Very nice renovated building in a historic complex. Still very central location. Even the small rooms are really well divided, you don't miss anything. The breakfast was also very good."

"Females beware of Peter the owner. He was very aggressive and a bully. Tried to inflate the bill and add on breakfasts that we hadn’t had. Was very nasty obviously not a nice man. A bottle of perfume went missing from our room. The back of the property was like a builders yard … and had been for a while. Velbert lovely and qaint but bad hotel."
