I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish.
The hotel is located in a convenient location, just a short walk from public transportation options.
Upon arrival, the staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they efficiently checked me in and provided me with all the information I needed about the hotel's amenities and the surrounding area.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed would highly recommend it to anyone. The combination of its prime location, beautiful historic ambiance, and excellent customer service make it a true gem in the city

Perfect location. Room is comfortable enough for a short stay in Taipei. It is near convenience stores, cafes, restaurants and about 2 to 3 minutes away from Ximending. It offers buffet breakfast too which offer a wide variety of food options (I like that they offer hot pot during breakfast) my only recommendation is maybe they should give their staff additional training in customer service as they do not greet you when go in or outside of the hotel.

Excellent location and friendly staffs. Although the hotel is a little old but it’s very well kept. Daily supply of bottled water, coffee & tea bags in the room. There’s also a coffee machine at the reception area. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. There’s no toilet amenities like toothbrush/ comb/ shaver so please prepare for the trip. Overall I recommend this hotel. Thank you.

Smooth check in but they do not offer early check in. Safe hotel you even need key card to access the floors so plus 1 for safety. Have an elevator right outside the hotel that connects to MRT so you will have no problem carrying your luggage. They provide coupon for breakfast so if you did not use it for the day you can use the coupon for additional person on the next days. They have lots of offering for breakfast, cake, fruits, cereal, even hot chocolate! I wish they can offer soup tho. They even have weighing scale in the reception area for your luggages. Will definitely recommend this hotel and if I go back to Taipei, I will use this hotel again. Also, one of the Hello Kitty themes 7-eleven is right below this hotel.

We booked three superior rooms and one of the rooms was smaller than the rest, even though we had paid the same price. The rooms were functional and clean, and housekeeping was prompt (before 10am). Breakfast selection was limited but sufficient. However, service standards should be improved - the staff were not very helpful in addressing our needs. When my family member needed a new hairdryer because the current one was not working, she had to make multiple calls as the staff was trying to get her to troubleshoot herself. When our card key couldn’t work, we had to go to the counter a few times to get the staff to assist. Despite these flaws, the location of the hotel was great though (5 mins from da’an MTR with convenience shops along the walk), so it was easy to get around as well as to get supplies.

From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive—checking in was seamless. The room itself was beautifully designed, combining comfort with modern elegance. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with high-quality linens and pillows that made for a restful night’s sleep. I appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided, including a well-stocked minibar, premium toiletries. The quality of the food—the breakfast buffet, in particular, offered a wide variety of both Western and local options, all fresh and delicious.

The location is not exactly central Ximending if you're looking for that BUT it is a 10min walk to Ximending if you're a slow stroller like me and I think the location is great. It's not noisy or crowded and I like how when you are walking towards Ximending, you will pass by the famous Milk Donut shop. A good morning perk up or a night snack when you leave or head back to the hotel.
They're also located opposite the river where you can do morning/evening runs which my brother did. Maybe just go during high tied instead of low tied, mainly due to the smell of the river during low tied.
Room size? Amazing. I was pleasantly surprise at the size of the twin bedroom. It had more than ample space to open two luggages with alot more space to dance around or chill or just put your shopping bags. A really good space.Even the doorway is big with a huge mirror.
I love that the room had a window that is big enough to see the world outside. My room had a view of the river. Really beautiful during sunsets. I get very claustrophobic and alot of the hotels in Ximen have no windows so this is extremely pleasant. Bed was comfortable. There is a TV but do not expect netflix or anything like that. It's really just showing local channels.
Toilet looks little old and dated BUT it's clean. It's spacious. The toilet bowl comes with a bidet (MAJOR PLUS). There is a shower bathtub situation and the water is nice and warm when I want it to be while showering so I wasn't very bothered by how it looked. Oh! Towels are amazing!
The whole place, honestly, is old vibes but it's one of the best stays I've had in Taipei since the first time I started coming 6 years ago. Also very conviniently located if you take Uber often, I feel.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. It was a pleasant surprise. A pleasant stay. Will definitely come back!

The hotel is located about 1.5km from Jiantan Station, which makes it inconvenient to walk with luggage. It’s best to take an Uber or taxi to the hotel.
The room is very luxurious and spacious, with a reasonable price for the area.
However, cleanliness did not meet my expectations, as I noticed quite a lot of hair. I believe the room should be vacuumed daily, as it’s normal for people to shed.
There was a disturbing white noise throughout the night, possibly from the piping or noise from the room above. It affected my sleep and was quite a setback, as nights should be quiet and the room should ideally be soundproof.

The location is excellent – just a few minutes walk to Taipei Main Station and also within walking distance to Ximending, which is very convenient. Hotel Review: Convenient Stay Near Di Hua Street, Taipei
This hotel is an excellent choice for travelers looking for convenience and accessibility near Di Hua Street. The Carrefour supermarket right across the street is a great plus for groceries and essentials, and there are multiple 7-Eleven and FamilyMart stores nearby.
The room we booked was spacious, providing a comfortable stay. Food options are plentiful, with many eateries in the vicinity and a night market just a short walk away. The hotel is also within walking distance of Da Dao Cheng and Di Hua Street, making it a great base for exploring the area’s rich history and vibrant local culture.
The only downside was the breakfast, which had limited variety and became a bit repetitive over our five-night stay.

YYapMelodyOur room type was quite spacious and they had everything we need in the room. A walk from XMD. But we mostly took bus and uber so it did not inconvenient us.
Free coffee drinks and snacks at lobby.
But only down side was, the bedding weren't the most clean. We felt itchy when lying on it and found out next morning that we had some red spots all over our hand and legs. Still itchy after we are back and it's been 2 days :(

Ssiow ping lerBest hotel I have stayed at Taipei so far.. location is excellent, 5 min to 西门町 station and street. Hotel is very clean and odourless, they do room cleaning everyday, staff are so polite and extremely helpful, seriously one of the best hotel service I have stayed in Asia so far. Only one thing they could do better is that the hotel rooms are built with thin walls, and I am very unfortunate to have a couple that always gives me ”free morning call” every morning without fail by banging on the bathroom walls next door.. not sure of this is something the property still can do about but the sound proofing could be improved better definitely.. Other than that, I am so impressed by the facilities, albeit being a budget hotel, they have a community space in the basement with free Laundromat and free coffee and tea dispensers. Also after 10pm each night, they even provide free cup noodles for supper! 😁will definitely be my first choice if staying at 西门町 in future!

My stay was wonderful! The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with great view! I arrived around 10am. The c/i time is after 2pm, so I went to Ximending first. Due to extreme hot weather, I decided to go back to the hotel around 1pm and wait for my room to be ready. As I was waiting outside, Amber approached me and helped to do my c/in. Very thoughtful as it was really hot outside. The location was perfect—close to attractions yet quiet at night.
Would definitely stay here again—**highly recommend** for a relaxing and enjoyable trip!

卡卡拉CarlaBasically, all the facilities are available. First of all, I am most dissatisfied with the air conditioning. It is super hot and cannot be adjusted. I called the customer service but got no response. However, it is indeed a personal problem as it is late. However, in winter, it is always 25 degrees inside when it is 14 degrees outside, which is a bit stuffy. Other things are good. The breakfast is delicious. The overall color scheme of the accommodation is also good. There is a large space with a bath, which is a good place to rest while working. The location is a bit remote, but there are unlike and buses nearby, which is also OK.

HHermajestyOur family had a wonderful six-day stay at Illume Taipei, and we couldn’t have asked for a more convenient location. The hotel is surrounded by multiple 7-Eleven and FamilyMart convenience stores, ensuring that snacks, essentials, and quick meals are always within reach. In fact, there’s even a 7-Eleven located inside the hotel itself, which adds to the overall convenience.
For families traveling with young children, the accessibility to medical facilities is a major plus. A hospital is located nearby, and a pediatric clinic is just a two-minute walk away, providing peace of mind in case of any unexpected health concerns.
The room was spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The thoughtful layout and cleanliness made it a welcoming space to return to after a long day of exploring the city.

JJLLWongQuite an enjoyable stay other than a few hiccups. The hotel is not visible from Xin Beitou Station. First look out for Kentucky and follow it's direction, then check for Starbucks (Guangming branch), then 300m ahead, you will see this hotel. There are many routes near Station so was quite confusing.
The hotel room is clean, bed is comfy with very good back support for me, provided 4 pillows which is wonderful. The room I was assigned to was a little noisy as it faces the main road. The sound proof was not too good for that room and periodically could hear water flushing sound. We managed to change to another room upon request. Hotel front desk customer service representatives were very friendly and helpful throughout. The hotel provides bottled drinking water and snacks (surprisingly it is tasty). Our in-room private onsen was satisfying. It's good for one person (big sized 🤣), water supply was strong and hot enough. Could adjust the hotness. Very comfortable. I like the fragrance of their shampoo and bodywash. It has warm toilet seat, very comfortable in the morning and during winter. Minus point is : washroom does not have enough railings to hang clothings so got to put on the washing basin side table which I don't like (just my personal preference).
The bedside does not have any power socket so it is very inconvenient for phone charging at night.
We forgot to bring our international adapter this round and we could borrow from the reception. WIFI in room is great!
Location of hotel is moderate walk to Beitou Hotspring Museum, Green Museum and Thermal Valley. Surroundings has numerous eateries and cafe.
Breakfast spread is acceptable. Quite a lot of variety to choose from.
It is an old building with some parts probably unable to refurbish well. The in-door public onsen (lady) has a few pools, hot and cold, steam/sauna room. One of the pools has jacuzzi so I enjoyed the most in this pool. I visited in the late evening, so it was quiet with less than 10 pax in the facility.

TTravelTaoVery good location as it's near Taipei main station where the airport train will stop at and also many other trains available. It's like 10mons walk to main station. Rooms are very clean. There's a bathtub in the shower which not that great for tall people. Also the ceiling is quite low from door way and toilet

DDivosI really liked this hotel . Location is great and convenient. The price is a little bit high , but is okay . SsenibolsMe and my friends recently stayed at this hotel and really impressed by the excellent service and location. The staff were friendly and even allowed us to leave our baggages before check-in and after check-out time. The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to explore nearby attractions and dining options especially in ximending area.
However, the amenities were somewhat limited and understandable due to their enviromental rules. The cleanliness was mostly good, but I did notice a few minor issues, like some left bottle under the bed. Rooms weren't very soundproof and could hear noises from neighboring room which made it harder to relax at times. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're looking for great service and a prime location, will def come back
