Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club, Surfside, Florida ★★★★★

"Got an early Saturday reservation, had to sit at cocktail table in bar. Table way too small for 3 people having dinner. Live music lovely and staff very attentive. I think I expected too much of the food bc of the ratings of this place. But my palet left disappointed. The fresh bread and butter delish as is complimentary crudite. The Fois Grois appetizer was $48, small and not as good as many we have had. Cherries didn’t really pair well with it. The candied bacon tasted more like baked ham, two tiny pieces for $22. The Beef Wellington is a nice presentation, again lacking flavor and $160 for 2 people. Rib eye was delish, but $120 for small trimmed piece. The fettuccine Alfredo with truffle was ok. New York cheesecake was tiny and not true NY style and consistency. For $700 for 3 with no alcohol left thinking it was not worth the $. Sorry to all of you Keller devotees."

"a true boutique. Quiet/private. We stayed at a small 2bdrm/2 bath (king and queen beds) suite with living room & kitchen for a fraction of the cost of the major chain hotels across the street for ONE standard room. Note: no breakfast available but unending amazing variety of restaurants' options on the next block and the beach less than a block proximity more than compensate costly options. The staff is superbly professional and personable."
