Bally's Shreveport Casino & Hotel

Shreveport|1.07km from city centre
Our last experience should have been our final but, we decided to give our former beloved Eldorado ****** a second chance. When reservations were made it was implied there had been some good changes to the property. It was not true. Updates and upkeep is apparently not on the agenda. The rooms remain outdated. They were just dirty and I am talking “deep dirty” that has been ignored far too long. Here are just a few examples of my hotel room experience. I spilled a glass of water and grabbed a towel to blot it up and in a matter of seconds the towel had large brown stains on it. The brown stains are left up to the imagination of what it came from. The last night of our stay my door would not open. I found housekeeping staff member to try their master key and was told the door was broken. After two phone calls to the front desk, I was put in another room and was told I was being upgraded to a suite. I could've cared less if I had an upgraded room or not. I only needed a room to sleep a few hours and the common decency of the staff in expressing their regrets that the BLASTED door couldn't be fixed. It was of no surprise the suite had not been updated and dust was prominent everywhere. We are living in epidemic times and most hotel properties have protocols in place and abide by them to ensure their guest safety. The restaurant food was not horrible. The main problem we would select an option only to learn they didn’t have it. In addition we were told they had not had selection for some time. During our stay, the steakhouse was not open. The gift shop has limited hours. The spa has limited hours and limited massage therapists. The staff at the spa were efficient and welcoming. I generally play slots vs table games. There were only a limited number of slots than what they have had in the past. Most of the slot machines were old and several machines had signs on them as inoperable. If you are a smoker there is no smoking inside the property per city ordinance. They are in process of building a “Patio” that was advertised on the flyer we received in the mail but, it has not been completed. The whole environment of this property is OFF. To say some of the staff were not customer service oriented would seem to be an exaggeration, I assure you it is not. With the name change one might think the property has been revamped. It is not. If management doesn’t get it up to the standards that most guests/players have come to expect, the outlook for this property is grim.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS CAN EITHER MAKE OR BREAK ANY BUSINESS!!!! Keep reading…….. We were attending a Cornhole tournament and the selection of Sam’s Town Hotel and ****** was A WIN!!!! From the amazing customer service by Natalie at the Front Desk, who deserves recognition by Hotel Management for representing the Hotel with outstanding customer service and going beyond her duties!! Both at our check in and check out, Natalie was FIVE STAR!!!! Also, Traig, who we were lucky to have as our AWESOME Bellman, SO POLITE AND PERSONABLE!!!! We also lucked out by having his assistance as we checked in and when we checked out! He also should be recognized for his excellent attitude and being a GREAT REPRESENTATIVE of Sam’s Town Hotel! Our room was absolutely beautiful and so clean and well stocked, I highly recommend this Hotel!! My only negative experience was when I was getting my “Rewards Card”, the young man’s comment about being reimbursed for the first $300 in loss with promotions in the mail in approximately 7-10 days, just started my gambling with a NEGATIVE thought process. I think something better to welcome first time players needs to be implemented; don’t start a gamblers evening with such a negative comment!! Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but may not return due to the bad feeling about gambling there! But, the Hotel was a great experience and we were very pleased!!! But, gambling, I did not get off to a great start, but I was shocked at the comment and hope this explanation gets changed to not start your guests off with Negative Vibes.

Courtyard Shreveport Airport

Shreveport
Last night we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Shreveport Louisiana near the airport. It looked online to be a freshly renovated and updated property. When we arrived, we, hands down had the worst room experience we’ve ever had —period. We arrived and everything looked fine, the hotel sign was new branding, the landscaping and building looked brand new, ditto the reception area and lounge. But as we headed for our booked 2 room king , the corridor looked a bit dated, well, okay we’re not staying in the corridor. There also was an odd odour though, again we can deal with that. We opened the door to to our room to a full on disaster. The room smelled like a skunk and one that perhaps in its past had smoked. After turning on the lights (not all lights worked) we discovered a room well beyond its prime and I would say embarrassing to Marriott. We’d expect better, it was dismal. The furniture was dirty, a sofa bed looked dirty and broken down, I wouldn’t get too close to it to try. I opened the drapes and the windows were too filthy to see through. The carpeting had seen better days, the closet had no doors. Thankfully the linens on the bed seemed okay. Lampshades we’re scuffed broken or stained throughout the room and not all fixtures worked. We went for dinner, returned and the room odour was still disgusting. Thankfully this was only for one night, unfortunately there were not a lot of choices in the area and we were tired from a long day of driving. Upon checkout the pleasant woman at the front desk, when I started to tell her, about our room, she looked at me knowing exactly what I was going to say about what we had experienced. She went on to say politely that they had renovated from the outside in and the rooms hadn’t been done yet. She was very pleasant and I know it’s not her issue it’s a corporate issue, but she’s the customer facing representative, thank goodness she was lovely and offered to request extra points for us for the experience. Thank you for your efforts. To corporate that’s not the point, your product was subpar, and did not meet expectations. I feel for the operator of the hotel who has to face us customers as a result of corporate decisions. That room should not have been sold to us let alone loyal bonvoy customers. If that was the best room you had I am shocked. Tonight we’re in a lovely Towneplace in north San Antonio at RIM, night and day. Thankfully.

Had a blast here. Room was very clean and housekeeping couldn't be nicer. Food was GREAT compared to the other ******s. The gaming was the best as I won my 1st jackpot. Only thing was that the pool was closed. It looked clean and its mid July, don't know why. Overall, was a great trip. Visited all the ******s in Shreveport/Bossier this time, but could have just stayed at this one. Definitely will be back!

The front desk person swiped my card even though everything was paid for and it deleted the payment, however she still took care of me and my needs, made sure my daughter and I were comfortable. She also handled the business with trip.com for me. That’s why I stay here everytime I visit!

If I could rate 10 Stars…I would! Kia: Front Desk Manager Shaketha: Breakfast Taurus: Houskeeping LaTonya: Housekeeping Cleanest rooms ever!!! This whole team was extremely inviting, friendly, professional and in tune to our needs. We were traveling and decided on this Marriott over others and I’m so happy we did!!! Everything was wonderful and LaTonya hunted down a few more makeup remover wipes that I desperately needed. It’s the little things that matter! Great job everyone, continue the phenomenal teamwork and we’ll stay here every time we travel or visit Shreveport! 🙌🏽👊🏽💯 Room rate well worth it!

Travelodge by Wyndham Shreveport La

The room was ABOMINABLE! Even with the LOW nightly rate I got it was HORRENDOUS! If this is what Wyndham wants to rep, you have reached a new low! Let's see where do I start: phone was completely dead for me to report that the TV did not work AND that the TV remote had no back to keep the batteries in. So, I had to walk to the office where the maintenance men just happened to be. They came over and ”fixed” the TV, which had the grainiest picture I have EVER seen, ever! Some channels were so bad I couldn't even watch them. Their ”repair” for the lack of a battery cover was to take some clear packing tape and wrapped it around the remote! REALLY??? Then, the best for last as the next day when I went to take a shower I noticed the porcelain in the shower was pock marked like it was 30+ years old, to th point of being disgusting looking, BUT, hold your breath, then I notice many HAIRS stuck to the bottom of the tub, FROM ANOTHER HUMAN BEING! GROSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! OMG! I had to rinse and rinse to get those digesting short little black hairs out of the tub so I could take a shower and get the F out of that hellhole of a room! I have pictures to document if you are even interested!? Can't even give the hotel a 1 out of 10!
