11365240****It is still quite a long way from Menghai to Zhanglang Ancient Village. The proprietress specially drove to pick us up and also saw us off when leaving, which was very considerate.
After checking in, we received one-stop service for food, drink, and entertainment, which felt very good.
Eat: Breakfast is wood-fired hanging pot bean porridge, which is very delicious. I drank three large bowls around the stove and was satisfied. Lunch is mushrooms picked in the mountains. The bright red mushrooms are like elves in the mountains, so beautiful and spiritual. Simple mountain spring water stews into a mushroom soup with a strong aroma of fungus. Dinner is wild vegetables and pumpkin sprouts picked randomly by the roadside, which are also very delicious when stir-fried. By pounding bitter eggplant, pounding river bamboo shoots, and pounding tomatoes, you can taste the unique flavor of the mountains. I also ate their own wild honey, which was sweet to my heart.
Drink: The landlady brought out various kinds of ancient tree tea and Pu'er tea for us to taste. With the sound of rain outside the tearoom and the faint fragrance of tea in the tearoom, we chatted about home affairs in an understated way. I felt that although the landlady is young, she has a sense of self-reliance. The sense of self-reliance and strength brings respect.
Wan: Even though the lady boss is young, she got on her motorcycle and took the two of us on the muddy road in the mountains. She was very cool and comfortable. We were taken up the mountain to pick mushrooms, tea in the ecological tea garden, and ancient tea trees in the primeval forest. We also encountered wild Ganoderma lucidum on the way.

We checked a lot of news on the Internet and found that the tea house B&B was on Nanxun Mountain, and the boss could take us around the tea mountain according to the evaluation, so we were in the car of Xishuangbanna. We contacted the boss and got affirmation. After we got off at the high-speed rail station at 8 o'clock in the evening, we rented a car and drove over without eating. It was already around 9 o'clock in the evening when we arrived at the hotel. The boss and his wife were very enthusiastic. They learned that we didn't eat. The boss personally cooked rice noodles for us. This is the best and most authentic Yunnan rice noodles we have eaten in Yunnan for more than a week. After that, the boss also entertained us with his own ancient tree tea, introduced us to the local tea and customs culture, it is estimated that it is off-season, and also upgraded the room type for me for free. The next day, the boss arranged breakfast and lunch for free. The hospitality of the boss and his wife, and the family treatment made us feel warm and have a feeling of being cheap and uncomfortable. The next day, the boss drove us to visit the first ancient tree, asked us to taste the authentic tea eggs, reserved a cup of tea in advance for us to experience fried tea, the itinerary was clearly arranged, suddenly we had an illusion, not to stay, more like to come to tea house. 2. Hygiene: clean and tidy.
3. Environment: Elegant and clean, the room we live in has a balcony, open the door to see the mountain, surrounded by fog in the morning, there is a feeling of entering the fairy scene!
4. Service: The boss family is honest and honest, and treats people sincerely and enthusiastically. It makes people feel that they are operating a homestay and are entertaining family and friends. I really worry that they will suffer if they go on like this.
In general, this is a very pleasant ”accommodation” experience. The time is short. Nanxun Mountain is good, the mountains are good, the people are good, and the tea is good. The main thing is that the entire hotel from the public area to the rooms is great. The public area is French and North American style. I didn’t check the room I booked. We were upgraded to a hot spring room. The room was in North American style and the facilities were exquisite. Locals have stayed in resort hotels such as InterContinental, Pullman, Crowne Plaza, Sheraton, and Wyndham during weekend vacations in Banna and with ** consumption coupons. The facilities are not as good as this room, and it is impossible to stay at 90 for a price of 500 to 600. With a square meter suite, Menghai is suitable for vacation, and this hotel makes the vacation experience even higher.

PParkhurstBeautiful resort! Like a cruise ship, but on land. The food at the breakfast buffet was great with cereals, typical Chinese breakfast options of fried rice/lo mien/breakfast noodles, eggs, fruit, yogurt, coffee, pastries, and waffles/pancakes. Dinner was great, too, and we found that going a bit earlier helped to get fresh food and avoid holiday crowds. Patrick, the general manager was amazing and so kind. He stopped at a fair amount of people’s tables, despite being very busy during CNY, to make sure everything was ok.
The room was awesome. We overlooked the golf course. Mornings were foggy and crisp. Evenings were full of fireworks and we had a great vantage from our 3rd floor balcony to see many of the smaller displays. Our housekeepers were amazing and added nice touches each day such as extra coffee, towel art, and a fresh bit of bath salts.
Around the resort there is a lot to do from day hikes, a soak in the hot springs, golf (when the course is open), horse rides, jet skiing, and swimming. It was too chilly to swim in the outdoor pool at the hotel but the hot springs were perfect.
Just a quick note on the location of the resort - it is about a 45-minute drive from Jinghong. Some people we talked to didn’t realize that and thought that the starlight market was close by. DiDi drivers were readily available so getting back into the night market area wasn’t a problem.
For general things, we also had a lot of help from Echo. She was lovely and gave us a good idea of what do around the area.

The boss was worried about us and made several phone calls to us. We can order the meal in advance. It tastes good and the portion is large. After the meal, the boss sang and danced. , performed Hani dance for us, heard us say that we wanted to see the sunrise the next day, drove us to find the way in the evening, invited us to drink tea when we came back, shared local stories, and introduced the tea-making process, which benefited us a lot. I must say that the boss's tea is delicious and the people are very down-to-earth. The big bowl of noodles for ten yuan for breakfast is very hot and very filling.
