When booking with Debs and Hannah they remembered us from our initial enquiry, which was a nice touch. The welcome on arrival was really warm and friendly, even though we arrived later than expected. The pitches are spacious and flat. Prices are high season £25, low season £20. We liked that the electric was metered and paid for what we used rather than an flat additional fee. The site overall was nice, clean and well maintained. The close proximity to the river and free use of their mooring to launch our kayak was a plus too. Showers are 50p for a 6 minute shower. The shower was nice and warm with good water pressure. There are washing up facilities. Also there are washing machines and tumble dryers to use (at a cost). You can order various breakfast/tea/coffee options onsite at a reasonable cost. We fed back on a couple of improvements that could be made to the site regarding the loos/basin facilities. Our suggestions are already in the recent owners thoughts/plans. The loo situation wasn't a massive problem for us as the site wasn't busy, but I would imagine if the site was even at half capacity, it could be problematic. The loos/showers are unisex. Overall it was very positive stay and we wish Debs and Hannah all the best in the future.

Stayed due to a Business meeting and was met on arrival by the owner, very respectful to other customers and also to the staff as they directed us to our meeting room. I stayed for the evening and was more than pleased with my room, very modern and comfortable, outside it was minus 3 degrees, my room didn’t show any signs of what was happening outside, underfloor heating was just the ticket! The shower was great, needed before we met for the evening meal in the restaurant, choices were fantastic and when the staff were asked on recommendations, they sure knew what they were saying. I only managed a starter and a main, I loved it. The food served during the rest breaks were very good, I’d actually recommend this to anyone who wanted to hold training, business development or conference meetings. 5* plus recommendations from me across the board.

I have stayed at The Rose & Crown many times in the past for business, as I like the building and it's history. Stayed one night (April 2022) and can't fault the service of the Manager, Mario. Room was small but comfortable and clean, but he made my visit with great service over dinner and long chats inbetween. Great guy and although working long hours due to staff challenges, nothing was too much trouble and made my stay special. It's all about the people, well done and thank you!!
