Villa Ameera Malindi ★★★★
"The hotel offered no food or drinks, the air conditioning was incredibly noisy (like a tractor), and it was a ten-minute walk to buy a bottle of water in a very remote location. Plus, it didn't support Glovo."
Diamonds Malindi ★★★★
"We are currently staying at this hotel and unfortunately, the experience has been very disappointing given the category and expectations. While the property itself has potential and the pool area is pleasant, the overall service and operational standards fall significantly short. Check-in experience: Arrival was poorly managed, with only one staff member handling guests. She was polite but clearly overwhelmed, resulting in delays and a disorganized process. Lack of basic support: No porters were available, and we had to carry our own luggage to the rooms, assisted only by an intern. This is not what one would expect at this level. Room standards and maintenance: The rooms did not meet expected cleanliness standards. One of the toilets was visibly unclean on arrival, and it took over an hour for housekeeping to attend. More concerning, maintenance issues such as a non-functioning flush and a clogged shower were not proactively addressed and required repeated follow-ups over more than a day to resolve. Additionally, the staircase to one of our rooms was very steep and potentially dangerous in the event of a fall, raising safety concerns. Responsiveness and service: Calls to reception frequently went unanswered, making it difficult to get timely assistance. Housekeeping was inconsistent and only done after repeated follow-up. The restaurant service was slow and inattentive, and the hotel appears to rely heavily on interns without adequate supervision, which is reflected in the overall guest experience. Lack of management follow-through: These issues were formally escalated to management via email during our stay. Unfortunately, there has been no follow-up or improvement, which is particularly disappointing. Overall: The facilities themselves show promise, but the operational execution is poor. There is a clear gap in service delivery, responsiveness, and attention to detail. We hope to see improvements during the remainder of our stay and would be happy to update this review if the issues are addressed."
Q Boutique Resort Malindi
"The atmosphere is exclusive, the rooms are elegant and very comfortable, and the impressive design makes you feel luxury in every detail. The staff is always attentive and kind, turning the stay into a truly memorable experience."
Exploreans Beach Club & Villas Watamu ★★★
"The hotel is fantastic!!! We absolutely loved it! We initially booked for one day, but then decided to extend it for another day. It's best to buy an all-inclusive package, as the hotel is located far from amenities. But if you're traveling with a group or on your honeymoon, this is perfect. The staff is polite and friendly, the food is delicious, the amenities are excellent, and of course, the price is great. The only thing I might not like is the hot water. It's warm, perfect for showering during the day, but cool in the evening."
Sawa Sawa Beach Hotel & Backpackers ★★

The Lawford Kenya ★★★
"Priceless location just a step away from the ocean where it is wonderful to walk, letting your gaze run to the horizon… Very well-kept and welcoming location. Spacious rooms, tastefully furnished and with an excellent view of a well-kept garden. Kind and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast (the passion fruit jam is unmissable). For lunch we enjoyed a truly tasty lobster! A peaceful corner to relax on one of the two pools…"
Kenyan House Malindi ★★★
"We were so excited and booked and paid with no balances. We loved the pool and the attendant is kind.the ambiance is okay but requires proper maintaining of furniture. However, the carpets and rooms were dusty and the kitchen was worse. The bathrooms were dirty and drainage is wanting and no shower water how can guests complain and get a hard look with their concerns not addressed!! The host needs to do better with the staff or fire and hire professional staff. Generally we were disappointed and didnt feel we got value for our money."
