Malanda Lodge
"Note that the standard rooms have adjacent doors that connect the bedrooms. This means that you hear everything from your neighbor as if they are in your own room. We had a loud snoring neighbor and could luckily change rooms (hence 5 stars for service). If you decide to stay here, pay a bit extra and choose the renovated room. Would not recommend taking the room with the adjacent door. Breakfast is nice and the location is good."
Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat
"Rose Gums. Location -1/5. Remote and miles and from anywhere. Not sure why people would want to come here. It’s cold and rainy. Poor walks. Woodland with very little animals except at night when it’s dark and you can’t see them. Local falls and walks very poor. Food- n/a. Self catering. No restaurant here. Staff - 4/5. There’s only one person here and he was helpful and nice Facilities - 0/5. Nothing here Ambience -0/5. Nothing here. Room - 3/5. Treehouse with good bed, fire, BBQ, Balcony, washing machine. Overall 1/5. Would not recommend unless you wanted a remote place with nothing to do. Walks here were poor. The waterfalls around here are nothing to write home about. Don’t know why Trail Finders recommended this place. It’s not for us."
Chambers Wildlife Rainforest Lodges
"This lodge is in the rainforest, a very special place. Birds and other wildlife are all around. An Australian Brushturkey frequented our cabin. The night viewing setup was good. The rooms were comfortable. We had a wonderful stay, with many great sightings."
Malanda Falls Retreat
"Best air bnb type accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. It was absolutely immaculate. It was clean, extremely well appointed and had everything you could possibly need plus many little extras. Location is perfect to explore the Atherton Tablelands region. Hosts were so welcoming but while they lived in a seperate house on the same property, I never knew they were there, my privacy was completely respected."
The Canopy Rainforest Treehouses & Wildlife Sanctuary
"Had the most amazing few nights at The Canopy Rainforest Treehouses and Wildlife Sanctuary. A once in a lifetime stay, totally immersed in nature on the most beautiful site! The treehouses are lovely and very well equipped with all you could need for a comfortable visit. My favourite memory was having a cup of tea on the balcony in the morning and watching the wildlife below :) Very lucky to see the Cassowary family multiple times during our stay :) So glad to have had this experience of the beautiful Queensland rainforest."
