The big downside about this place is that it’s a smoking hotel, and people smoke everywhere in it, except maybe the breakfast place because I didn’t see anyone smoking there when I was there. And very few of them speak english, and it’s not that good but they try their best. And the word thing is they got into the room, when we were out, despite us turning on the do not disturb sign!! It was our first visit to Linyi and we were very thankful to have the help of Mr Alan Su, the hotel manager. He and his staff were able to show us around Linyi with the use of their foyer tourist map and were even able to help us buy new shoes at a nearby store. While staying there we had to have the nucleic acid test daily, and they were always quick to help us in anything we needed. After visiting the caves we returned to stay a few days later and will gladly stay there again. The breakfast is by far the best we have eaten in China with an excellent balance between Western and Eastern dishes and really value for money. If we stayed in Linyi I would regularly go there for their breakfasts. The hotel is well situated near the top tourist attractions, but Linyi being very much bigger than what we expected, you need to travel quite far by taxi to the outlying tourist venues like the zoo and the mountains. But overall a wonderful stay!
