New Lanark Mill Hotel ★★★★

📍 Mill No.1, New Lanark Mills, New Lanark Rd, Lanark

"We were completely exhausted when we checked in and delighted to find a comfy bed with lovely views over the river. We rested for a while and then went to the spa. The pool was just the right temperature as was the sauna and steam room. It was very relaxing. We enjoyed a great meal it was very tasty and served quickly. I'm vegan and gluten free and the choice for me was excellent. We then strolled around outside for a while catching the setting sun. The scenery was gorgeous. We slept really well and again enjoyed the spa facilities before a hearty breakfast and checked put completely refreshed at 11am the next day. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you New Lanark Mill Hotel."

"Used this after recommendation from a friend and it's great location in relation to our trip. We were welcomed by Alan our host who sorted our breakfast order and time for the next morning and showed us to our room, which was upgraded as he was doing some more work. The premises are immaculately clean and beautifully presented with attention to detail. Everything looks in place and is clearly not cheap, all the furniture is of high quality, the artwork was stunning and again all fitted in perfectly. The colours throughout again are carefully chosen and the whole ambience is of peace and welcoming. The beds are comfortable and a good size, the bathrooms huge, the water pressure wasn't great but plenty enough to have a good shower. The breakfast, freshly cooked to order from the night before and again beautiful. This place is a must stay."

The Village Inn

The Village Inn ★★★

📍 89 Lanark Rd, Lanark

"Friendly reception on arrival. Was sent a text with a number to meting incase I needed it. Love the tartan carpet. Clean, fresh and well stocked. Extras available if needed for tea, coffee, etc. don’t be put off by the separate shower rooms. They are literally two steps over the hall and robes are provided. Lots of fluffy towels left too. I needed an early start so was left a huge continental breakfast. Remember that the bar is only open Thursday through to Sunday. It is on a busy road but good windows and blackout blinds help. Parking was available outside. Nice green opposite. Great for an overnight stop on my way to Edinburgh."

New Lanark Mill Hotel ★★★★
"Beautiful place. The room was nice, comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. Dinner was okay, but really noisy in the restaurant. I think the mussels was bad. 3/4 of the mussels was not opened when cooked. I ate one that was opened and was still sick 2 hours later. There was a wedding going on. Our room was next to the lift on the top floor. The music was loud, but everything went quiet after midnight. Until maybe some guests come back to their room. Apart from that all was okay. Maybe would be better for wedding guests to get the room by the lift so it doesn't disrupt others."

Rosemount Boutique B&B ★★★★
"We loved this place and wish we'd booked another night. It's in a great location with lots of pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance but the accommodation is also really well appointed and comfortable. It has all the facilities you expect from a quality B&B. The breakfast was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious but it was also nice to chat with John and Lesley. I can't recommend Rosemount highly enough."

Knockaloe BEG Farm ★★★★
"My daughter and I have been wanting to stay in the Wigwams at Knockaloe Farm for a while, and we finally got round to booking 2 nights here over Easter. The Wigwams are so cozy and surprisingly spacious. Out the front is a beautiful green for the children to play and behind is a field with sheep and lambs. It’s so idyllic and a real peaceful environment that you instantly feel relaxed when you arrive. We went over to the farm for 12:30 and fed the lambs which was lovely. Farmer John was kind enough to bring out one of the ponies for my daughter to see. The hot tub is fab and takes a few hours to heat up, but wow it gets hot! It’s great!! On our second day we went over to the farm to have a walk around and met Farmer Jen! She is just wonderful and always so friendly. She was great with my daughter and let her feed one of the piglets. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone you meet there are super friendly and are very accommodating. The weather on the first night was wild with heavy rain and winds, but it was so cozy and warm in the wigwam, they really are great to stay in, in all weather. I highly recommend staying in one of the WigWams. It’s truly a special experience."
