Quinta Das Figueirinhas & Quintinha Village

We stayed here in August 2023 , and found it to be excellent for our needs as a family of 4 , two boys 13/11. We had a 2 bed duplex apartment with 2 big bedrooms and a large bathroom , downstairs is an open plan layout with everything you need in the kitchen cooker with oven , microwave , kettle, toaster , washing machine , dryer, never used the dishwasher, plenty of crockery ,cutlery etc. it also has a sun terrace on the top floor. There is a shared grassy area at the rear of the property and a small front garden. The complex itself is clean and well maintained and the pools are big and again very clean, but be aware it is a salt water pool. There are about a dozen restaurants within easy walking distance from the complex all very good , our favorite was the Master Grill opposite the supermarket, ( go Hungry and thank me later). There is a shuttle bus that takes you into Amercao De Pêra where you will find gorgeous beaches , a few bars and more restaurants highly recommend Pêra Bistro Bar great food and entertainment most nights. We got an Uber back at night 8/9 Euros. Would recommend this complex but be prepared to travel a little for more lively nights out .
Hotel Boutique Brícia du Mar

I would use one word to describe this hotel -Paradise. We came as guests and the staff treated us so well, we left as friends. We had our wedding at the Bricia Du Mar and it was prefect. The location for a wedding is what we dreamed of. The hotel is low rise and like a little village with beautiful rooms and a stunning pool area. There is a fantastic gym and spa also. What Raquel, Pedro and everyone else did to help us was above and beyond what you would expect from a hotel. They say they are not wedding planners but what they did to help us arrange our wedding was incredible. This a family run hotel and you can see the care and attention they have to make the hotel a success as it is quite new. Everything is spotlessly clean and such a calming wonderful environment. Our wedding went without a hitch and the attention to detail was incredible. All the staff at our wedding were genuinely happy to be there from the chefs to the bar staff and waiters who couldn’t do enough for us. From the bottom of our hearts thanks you Graeme and Janice Cowan
Ukino Palmeiras Village - 24h All Inclusive

Quiet location not much around it. The beautiful beach on the doorstep. Hotel staff were so lovely from reception to the bar staff. Room immaculate and cleaned daily. Spacious with loads of storage the best I’ve stayed in Food was very nice and loads of choice no complaints at all. Kids club was outside on the roof which was a bit cool also activities to be paid for which is difficult because kids want to spend all the time. 24 hours food and drinks believe it or not which we found great. Indoor cabaret bar which I didn’t like because of how dark it was but it was a theatre theme but felt like an old night club. Watched a couple of good shows but personally I like singers and dancing. That was the only downside for me. Usual sunbed grabbing but it was the kids holidays and got better when school kids went home. I was a bit concerned with the foam party as the kids finished up in the deeper part of the pool and couldn’t see where the kids were. Other than that we had a great time and would recommend this hote for families I think the hotel would benefit from the tokens for glasses as people just left them around the pool for others to collect.
Lagoa Hotel

Booked a 3-night twin room to attend a friend's lecture in Lagoa. The hotel, or better, motel is excellent for those on wheels, not for those on foot. If you have disabilities find another town in the Algarve. Some sets of stairs do not have rails, you have to go round the entrance to physically 'get in'. The reception has only 1 staff member when off-season, be prepared and do it all online. Forget questions about taxis, transportation, and restaurant advice is really subjective. The room was very comfortable, the second door to a set of stairs (curled) with direct access to the car park/entry of the hotel area was not. Cold and humidity pass through the doors (front door leading to corridor inside as well), as doors need maintenance. Breakfast is good and varied, for all tastes, except gluten-free options. Internet signal very weak, had to use phone data package. Check-in is only at 4pm. Pro's. besides what I already mentioned: bus terminal 5 min walk, good restaurants each way 5 min walk (one is just next door), supermarket passing the roundabout, beds very comfortable. You can walk to the centre (10 min walk) but the town is without interest, unless you are there for an event, for those on foot, you can stay here and get to know other nearby cities in the Algarve by bus, as the terminal is so close, and it is not expensive to go around by bus.
Mirachoro Carvoeiro

Just back from a week at wonderful Mirachoro Carvoeiro. Delighted with our room and the huge balcony with the sea visible in the distance and the setting sun.( we had requested this view and management very kindly were able to facilitate it on this occasion) Loved the quality of the bed linen though the mattress was a bit like a seesaw 🙂All the staff were really very pleasant . The Breakfast food tasted very good. The Hotel is spotlessly clean. The pool area very pleasant. The location is brilliant. 7 mins downhill and 10mins uphill ( a little bit of a climb) to a beautiful beach with fresh Atlantic water to swim in and the main town. Plenty of restaurants close to the hotel and in the town. We really loved our stay and definitely hope to return.
Pestana Palm Gardens

Go to the Benagil cave, about 10 minutes by car. The whole hotel is similar to a small resort. It was a bit similar to the one I stayed in Las Vegas. The living room is very large. I did not try the restaurant and the pool. The front desk was very welcoming and cost-effective.
