Lovely people run this place. They booked a ticket for Kathakali making sure for me to be on the front row, Maria’s cooking class and gave good recommendations for food and shopping. They were very attentive and always had time for me. I am so grateful that the lady of the hotel even helped me dress a sari that I got in Kochi. The room was spacious with air con and fan. Each floor has a communal eating and lounge space. Easy access to the main area of Fort Kochi. Most of popular cafes are within 10 minutes walk. They don’t serve breakfast, but there is a good cheap veg restaurant within 2 minutes walk (Their deep fry paneer was fab. Good Indian breakfast as well as coffee and tea). Roof-top swimming pool was great to have for cooling down in the evening ( no place cones with a swimming pool in this area for the price). Highly recommend.

Cleanest accomodation so far in India! Good shower pressure, good bed, did I mention clean? Water available to fill your water bottle… Was lucky to have the room entirely for myself for one night as no other guest showed, and when someone did it was still comfortable even if he was on the top bed as mine. Perhaps a bit excesively cold when AC and fan are running, but hey that’s Asia’s usual when staying at a hostel. You come to Asia to escape the cold and end up sleeping with a blanket. And getting horrible sore throats, and dryness from excesive AC. Staff was correct and helpful. Location was unbeatable! Will stay again in December.

We stayed for two nights in a deluxe room on the first floor; the hotel is a lovely old colonial building with beautiful period furniture. The bed was very large and comfortable and we slept under mosquito nets - no bad thing as the window frames are original with gaps! The air con was good and there was a kettle with tea & coffee. It was good to come back after sightseeing and jump in the small plunge pool; the garden was small but had tables and chairs and was nice to sit in. The hotel is halfway down Princess Street which has plenty of cafes for breakfast; Trouvelle opposite which did a brilliant breakfast roll in a fabulous air-conditioned modern bakery. The cakes were to die for! Next to the hotel was a 4* hotel where we had a beer in their bar and also went to the Old Harbour hotel round the corner for dinner.
