When we first arrived at the hotel we were greeted warmly and given checked in fairly quickly. I had chosen a “cosy double room” didn’t realise quite how cosy this room would be. The bed was smaller than a regular double bed and the bathroom was pretty small too. There was plenty of parking in front and behind the main hotel building. Our room was in the courtyard which was separate from the main hotel building. The courtyard is not well signposted and we were quite confused trying to find our room initially, we had to ask a cleaner for directions. Other than being small the room itself was fine. The bed was fairly comfy and there were spare pillows in the small cupboard. The room had tea/ coffee making facilities and a tv with multiple channels. The walls were pretty thin so we could hear everything the people next to us were saying so bare that in mind. The bathroom appeared clean at first but upon further inspection the shower had spilled soap/ shampoo on the floor from the previous people that stayed there. Next to the hotel is the woodshed. The Woodshed was cosy, clean and served a variety of different snacks and drinks. Amy who works there was very friendly and welcoming and showed good knowledge of the surrounding areas. It also had popular music playing and a pool table. Dogs were welcome in this area. There was a real fireplace in here however this wasn’t lit when we visited.

Stayed on a Friday and a Sunday at a great price with Breakfast included plus a contribution to dinner. Had a good room with very modern bathroom. The bed was comfortable. Dinner menu was a bit limited but there were 4 main courses and 2 were gluten free. We both enjoyed our meal. Breakfast again was good and they adapted to give me a good gluten free selection. Staff were excellent from minute you arrived right through to bar and meals. Tip - there are not many good large hotels in the area so they often have coach tours. This help keeps your cost down and doesn't spoil your experience. Just find out what time they are eating and you can avoid the busy times. Tip - try visiting the nearby Highland Folk museum. Especially if from the UK as you'll see how your granny (or great granny) used to live.

We arrived at Glenan Lodge a bit early as my husband had a whisky tour booked at Tomatin Distillery, the proximity to which was our initial reason for booking this B&B. Kay, the owner, showed us our room, the guest lounge & advised us of the availability of evening meal & breakfast times, as well as menu for the same. She gave us our keys & told us how to get hold of her if required. All in all our 2 night stay here was exactly what we needed, the accommodation was homely, very clean & comfortable. The food was home cooked, tasty & plentiful. The availability of a bar in the evening was a bonus, as the house is out of town so no access to pubs within walking distance. Kay & her small staff made us feel most welcome & nothing was a problem. A lovely place to stay and being just a few minutes off the A9, handy for touring the highlands as well.

Just stayed 2 nights at this lovely hotel with my husband and family. Food was absolutely gorgeous, I had haddock on first night and salmon on the second and both were so good. Throughly enjoyed our starters and desserts. Powerful shower, one of the best, home from home. Also, a very comfortable bed. Enjoyed driving around the local area and seeing the sights. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone having a trip to the Cairngorm National Park.

It feels like a motel. The landlord is very enthusiastic. This room type is great. It is recommended that you top 3 people or single rooms.

Service at reception was great and on realising we had a lesser standard room than what was booked and paid for we were swiftly moved to a better one. Service on entering the restaurant both times was poor and we were left standing both times ignored by a few staff. Hotel is tired and needing upgraded in most bits and the disgusting cigarette ashtray on entering the back door was overflowing and not emptied during our visit, not a good look at the doorway.
