Glenan Lodge Self Catering

This was booked as a surprise mini break for my birthday. Kay is a warm welcoming host and the atmosphere is perfect. The double room was clean and bright with the comfiest bed ever. The shower over the bath had lashings of hot water. We also ate our evening meals here and Kay is a wonderful cook. We had Haggis Neeps and Tatties the first night and Salmon, Boiled Potatoes with crispy kale for the second. Breakfast is very tasty . I would recommend the full Scottish Breakfast and the Scrambled Eggs with smoked Salmon. Porridge is plentiful and creamy - as attested by one of fellow guests. There is also options for cereal, fruit etc. We visited the Tomatin Distillery and really enjoyed the special afternoon tasting tour where we sampled mind blowing whiskies. Would highly recommend this delightful B&B

Kay was lovely and accomodating as an host. Very quiet and peaceful. Great breakfast. Comfortable accomodation. A bit far out of town. Loved our stay. Should have stayed another day instead of spending another day in Edinburgh.

Our host Kay was wonderful. She made the best haggis I’ve had to date only to be topped by her amazing Pavlovas for dessert. Breakfast was also delicious. Wonderful, comfortable rooms with amazing baths in a quiet setting. Would definitely go back.

Wow, a wonderful stay thanks to Kay, Leo, Mary & another lady I didn’t catch her name. It’s truly a home from home, fantastic breakfast, extremely comfortable Room 1, superior room worth the money, and such a quiet idyllic location, next to Tomatin distillery!!

This stay was a highlight during our trip. The room was great and we were very comfortable. The cooking and service was so authentically Scottish and we learned so much from both staff and other guests. We can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was.

We stayed for 3 nights. We highly recommend this place for multiple reasons, it is comfortable, clean and in a very convenient location, close to attractions in all directions. But what makes a place truly great is the people running it and there is no better host than Kay. Good manager, great cook and above all a great person!!

I booked a 2 night stay with a gift voucher from a well known company. I paid a little extra to get the 2nd night and now I wish I had booked an entire week. Kay and her staff are so lovely and welcoming and Kay is a fantastic cook! Nothing is too much to ask. I fell in love with Tomatin and the Highlands that it's nested in. If you love nature, and I mean truly love nature rather than claim to love it, then you MUST stay here! I walked for miles on the Moor that sits behind Glenan Lodge. I met the sheep that live in the mountains and enjoyed the sun and rain. There's something about that place that makes you want to move house. Theres also a lovely little wood behind the lodge, just before you get to the Moor where red squirrels live. There's a red squirrel that visits Kay's garden to nibble at the nuts in the bird feeder. The deer, rabbits and squirrels run free there. You won't see a soul for hours. I had the Moor all to myself, it was amazing. I came here to relax and do some photography. I wasn't disappointed.
