"We have just returned from a super holiday on Ios where we stayed at the Relux Hotel. The hotel is only a very short walk from where the ferry arrives from Santorini. All the staff were very friendly - Stefanos who runs the outside bar beside the breakfast/dining area is great fun and knows everything about the island (he also makes excellent morning coffee). The buffet breakfast was very good with the lovely Christina on hand to keep everything spotlessly clean. The hotel pool has loungers and is very well looked after but we enjoyed taking the local bus at the harbour to Mylopotas where there is a great beach with good restaurants - it's an hourly service for 2 euros. We hired a car for one day from Jacob's Rental next door and were well looked after by Maria and Katarina - we covered most of the island that way. All in all, Relux is in a superb setting at the port with great staff and tavernas within a 5 minute walk - highly recommended!"

"Stayed 1 night at the Acteon hotel. Rooms are ok standard, but paper thin doors so you basically here everything going on ..... Nice view over the port and 10 steps from the bus to chora/mylopotas beach. So for 1-2 nights stopover it's ok, price too. 60 Euro, in high season. "

"I am writing this review while enjoying the last moments in the pool before leaving. We spent five FABULOUS days in Ios and especially in this hotel. We opted for a deluxe room that overlooked the chora, it had 2 rooms with two double beds and a cot so it was approved for more than 2 people. Greek style rooms a bit "spartan" but we only used it to sleep and wash, the only flaw was that the air conditioning was leaking but they immediately fixed it. Bar area with beautiful pool every now and then they came back early from the sea and we used the pool always ventilated it was divine. The staff then fantastic, kind and friendly girls work there. You eat well and the prices are normal, we also had breakfast included it is not a buffet and every morning they brought us a plate with eggs ham cheese toast pancakes Nutella and honey and it was done at 10 so you had all the time to wake up comfortably. I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel, we had a great time and the room with a view of the chora made everything even more beautiful."

"Spent a week here and if honest was disappointed in room it was not clean, it was dusty and grubby, and the bathroom plastic curtain needs binning the sink was dirty, I paid quite alot for this room and expected better. The cleaners sit on stairs watching stuff on their Phones and need to be careful what they say about females who walk past as I speak Greek and do not take kindly to being commented on. The bar man makes up the prices im sure and is not exactly the most friendly of people. Penelope front desk is lovely that's as far as I would go, one min staff say hi next min they walk past without looking. The young girl in breakfast room was rude to me one morning when I asked for a cup for ny coffee, she basically said wait, an never came back I went and got a coffee from the bar by pool but got charged. Would I return NO! "

"The property appears to be very beautiful and captivating, at least from the photos. I would have given it 5 stars for the panoramic location, the strategic position for exploring iOS, and the helpfulness and friendliness of the owners. These special and very helpful people welcome you like family, and I will always have fond memories of them. And that's the end of the positive aspect. As for the rest, the property, in my opinion, is not very clean, by my standards. The pool is dirty, the building and rooms are dirty, outdated, and poorly maintained, definitely in need of renovation. The room had a persistent smell coming from the bathroom and a musty smell. Breakfast was not included in the price, and for the amount paid, they could have offered a minimal breakfast. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms. The mattresses and pillows are uncomfortable, old, worn, and not very clean. The paid restaurant is sketchy and poorly structured in terms of service and staff. For the amount paid, I would not return."
