Hotel is huge! However, it’s not exactly an easy to walk to with luggage in the snow location, it’s literally in between to stations, so it’s always a battle which one to walk to. Hotel has a nice onsen, with several indoor pools, and a tiny outdoor one with no views. It’s a shame that the onsen operating time ends super early And only opens 12-10pm and 7-9am, very disappointing. Rooms were spacious and tall beds so you can store more luggage underneath but there’s only heater mode during winter and you will have to get the staffs to help unlock the window because it is too warm in the room.

Onsen Yuen Sapporo was an absolute highlight of my trip to Hokkaido. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was calm, clean, and welcoming. The design blends modern comfort with traditional Japanese aesthetics, creating the perfect space to unwind. The baths themselves were incredible—immaculately maintained with a variety of options including indoor and outdoor rotenburo. The water quality was excellent and left my skin feeling soft and refreshed. I especially loved the open-air bath with snow gently falling around me—it felt like something out of a dream. The facilities are top-notch, including relaxing lounges, a well-stocked vending area, and a cozy restaurant with delicious local dishes. The staff were kind and attentive, even offering helpful tips for first-time visitors. Whether you’re a local looking for a quick escape or a traveler wanting to experience authentic Japanese relaxation, Onsen Yuen Sapporo is a must-visit. I left feeling completely rejuvenated and can’t wait to return!

Room is huge and clean with private onsen. The public bath is impressive, happened to soak when it was snowing, great and unforgettable vibe! Everything is perfect with the stay. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, one wouldn’t discover how great the service is when things go smooth and will take things for granted. We received extra and timely assistance from the hotel staff when upon checking out, our car battery died down, the reception staff had helped with communicating and a team of staff had helped with re-igniting the car battery for us, can’t thank them more when we have a plane to catch in that morning. Really appreciate their professionalism! It’s the people who made our stay even unforgettable!

Proximity to Sapporo station is the main consideration why I booked this hotel because it’s my first time in Sapporo. I will definitely be coming back to stay once we go back in town.

Love it so much!!! Very big and complete place to stay for relaxation on your holidays. Good views and comfortable rooms. A lot of Spaces to relax. Unluckily that my health is not suitable for onsen so I missed opportunity to use them. Pingpong room is interesting, I want to play if I wasn’t there alone. Good dinner and buffet breakfast, but would be much better if I can change beef to pork or other meats. Surprisingly, this hotel connects to Shika no Yu. Some facilities can be used together, so I roamed around and enjoyed a lot. An evening lounge to enjoy music and snacks was so good. I really wish to stay here again! Oh, one more thing, I had a nice pic from window to show you first snow of 2024!!

Location is not bad, not as near to Susukino as other similar hotels but, they have their own parking garage, which cost only 1500 yen for the day plus you can move the car in and out without restrictions. Just need to bring the card to front desk to validate it each time when you go out. We walk to Susukino and the shopping arcade by foot, it takes 20-30min walk, we can actually see the shopping arcade No.7’s section from our window. All in all I like this hotel a lot, breakfast selection is great, but the room size is quite small, well I think this is normal here in Japan in the city. I would come back and stay at this hotel again if I shall return to Sapporo.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of major attractions, making it a great base for exploring the area. The room features traditional Japanese-style interiors but feels quite dated, including the furniture. On the positive side, the buffet for both dinner and breakfast offers a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. A standout feature is the free shuttle service from Sapporo Station, which adds convenience for travelers. Overall, it’s a practical choice for its location and amenities, though the rooms could use some updates.

AAnonymous UserAll the hotel staff are very nice The private hot spring is also very comfortable The hotel has a spa and laundry It is already very good in Jozankei The only drawbacks are two aspects 1. Inconvenient transportation The hotel has a free shuttle bus, but it is basically impossible to make a reservation during the peak season. You can only go directly through the reservation system bus/the hotel helps to book a taxi. You need to make reservations in advance 2. This hotel is not in Jozankei Town, it is located next to the highway. Because the hotel has no entertainment facilities, transportation is inconvenient during the snow season. If you want to play around, you need to make transportation plans in advance Overall, the experience is still very good

GGuest UserHad an amazing stay at Chalet Ivy, a new modern ryokan with traditional feels. The room is very spacious with comfortable modern amenities, with an in-room private onsen, with unobstructed snow covered views. Dinner and breakfast here are one of the best, the sequencing of dishes and the amount are just right. Your get to explore various dishes and each dishes are so meticulously done. One of the best perks here are the lounge, the snack bar and drinks bar are awesome. Stocks with best Sapporo snack and drinks for you to grab at any time. Definitely one of the best resort ever, will return for sure.

AAllytadahWe only had 1 night to stay in this beautiful paradise 🥲🤍 It was the best stay of our 10 day trip in Japan and we would definitely be back to stay here again 🤍 Location: in the Jozankei Onsen town that’s about an hour + out of Sapporo. Honestly if you’re in a group, just book a cab out, it was about $80++ for 3 of us! Otherwise remember to book the Onsen bus shuttle early in advance 🥹 Area around Onsen is nothing much besides other Onsen houses, a small cafe and other smol tourist picture spots. Back to the Ryokan: this was my first experience being in one and I’m so glad I chose this place! Mum and sister throughly enjoyed it as well, using our in room Onsen ( there’s 2!) and also the shared common Onsen with an outdoor facing the snow too ❄️☃️♨️ Service:The staff was extremely polite and efficient, seeing the reviews of them being rude was kinda uncalled for. They were nothing but kind and attentive. It is a very quiet and peaceful place , I understand the need for all guests to be maintain the atmosphere too. Food: amazing, one of the best meals I’ve had in Japan so far ♥️ the pictures below speaks for itself 🥹 private dining room to enjoy the view too🏔️ Loved small touches too like the mikimoto soaps , Dyson hair dryers ( in the public Onsen) And the chopstick souvenirs 🥹 I can’t wait to come back here again with my partner 🤍

The room is clean and sanitary, the view outside the window is beautiful, it is built along the stream, and the open-air hot spring view is even more beautiful. GGuest UserOverall, the experience at Cuishanxi was very good, but the service of several male waiters left me with a very bad experience. One was the male waiter who checked in. His overall reaction was very bland. Having stayed in so many high-end hotels, I felt that his attitude was average and indifferent. At that time, we were not told that we needed to pay 150 yen per person for the private hot spring. I was wondering why they didn't tell us that it was not necessary? But the most annoying thing was the male waiter who checked out the next day, a thin male waiter. When we checked out, we asked him if there was a bus (although there was no bus when we asked before checking in, just a tentative question to see if there were any variables), he said no, it was normal to get here. Then we asked him to book a taxi for us. He said he was very busy now. Didn't he think about making an appointment when he got up in the morning? ? Oh my God, am I here to stay in the hotel, or do I want you to teach me? I didn't say that a taxi would pick me up immediately. I just booked a car. It's my own problem to arrive early or late. Do I need to listen to you teach me how to do things? Fortunately, when we walked around and went back, we met a female receptionist with a very good attitude. She was very kind to help us consider three options and even tried to help us coordinate the bus position. In the end, we took the bus. Otherwise, I would definitely complain to this man! So I strongly recommend that other male waiters learn more from this woman!

GGuest UserNew hotel, the room is big in Japan, the service at the front desk and restaurant is very good, the breakfast is good. But the overall hygiene of the room and the big bathroom cannot be called very clean, the room is obviously dusty, the floor of the big bathroom is slippery, and the bottom of the pool is also slippery due to insufficient cleaning. The room is not cleaned every day, only once for guests who stay for more than three days. The transportation is not very convenient, the nearest subway station is three intersections away, and the JR station is seven or eight minutes walk away.

SShervinIt might have not been clearly mentioned but there is no air-conditioning provided, only central heating. During my time there, weather was cold out so the room only had 3 levels, low heat, medium heat and high heat. There is no way to sleep in those conditions and it took me a while to realize because the receptionist on the help desk phone did not speak English, so I went down to the lobby past midnight to ask the only staff available. Through some help on google translate and his hand gestures, I was told that I had to leave my windows open to let cold air into the room. This was not explained at any point during the check-in so I guess that's the downside for foreigners wanting to stay here. There's also a hot spring tax you have to pay when you check out. All things considered Jozankei is not a big town so everything is accessible and the hotel is generally comfortable otherwise.

DDellI stayed here for 10 nights in low season (May) just interrupted by going somewhere else when the price shot up on the Friday and Saturday nights and at the price I paid this was the best value I’ve enjoyed in in the few months I’ve spent in Japan (having visited all four main islands). Microwave and fridge (with ice cube tray and chilled glasses in it) in the room, bathroom gleaming, onsen includes sauna, water cooler outside onsen. Livemax does need to move all the furniture around every few months and properly dust, plus you can see scuff marks if looking for them, but I thought this place was great other than not having a real window.
