"The location is excellent, in the town center, with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. It's convenient for visiting the volcano and close to the airport. Cleanliness, at least superficially, seems acceptable. Breakfast ends around 8:00 or 8:30, consisting of chocolate waffles and coffee… Is there a deposit for check-in? All credit card information was manually entered, which was a first for me and made me very uneasy afterwards. My security code was also specifically verified… I suggest checking if cash is available."

"I recently stayed at SCP Hilo and, overall, I found the experience to be underwhelming. While the service was decent, there were several drawbacks that made the stay less than ideal. The hotel is located very close to the airport, so noise from early-morning flights was constant and began as early as 4AM. On top of that, many guests were leaving for early flights, which meant lots of door-slamming and hallway noise at all hours. The room itself was quite small and dated, with no real view—just a window that looked into the interior courtyard. Unfortunately, this compromised both privacy and quiet, as anyone walking by could see directly into the room. One major downside was the additional daily "amenities fee," which felt excessive considering the limited offerings. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially if you’re looking for a peaceful or private stay."

"The most disappointing accommodation in this trip. I checked in late and it took me a long time to call the receptionist. The room has no air conditioning and the breakfast is not delicious. It is said to have a sea view, but the location is close and the sea cannot be seen in the room. There is no place to have breakfast. As you can see, the appearance of the room looks good in the picture, but from a close look it lacks maintenance and is unpopular. Booked based on ratings, not reliable."
