Langley Castle Hotel ★★★★
"A very special stay experience, it is a real medieval castle, and the choice is one of the only few rooms in the castle Josephine suite, especially like the medieval windows in the room, the photos are very good. The dinner and breakfast experience was great, the overall price/performance ratio was OK, the night was very quiet and there was almost no light pollution, and you could see the wonderful stars. The most recommended is the castle tour, there is a dedicated staff who will take you to visit the entire castle and climb to the top, the scenery is unique. There are peacocks in the yard 🦚 If you want to experience a unique castle stay, it is highly recommended."
Travelodge Hexham ★★★
"My room was sparkling clean - I have never put that in a review before, but it was absolutely sparkling. Quiet room, convenient cafe located at the hotel for meals. Convenient to the train station. Great service."
Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort ★★★★
"Convenient for the Hadrian's Cycle Way, in a beautiful setting. Check in was smooth, room was large with tea and coffee. The swimming pool was a great bonus with sauna and steam. We enjoyed walking around the grounds."
George Hotel ★★★
"The hotel is in a very good location, convenient for visiting Hadrian's Wall and the surrounding countryside. There is a small river flowing next to it, and the scenery is very beautiful. The hotel is a bit old, but it is well maintained, and the bathroom seems to have been renovated. There are plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot. The breakfast is good, but dinner is not all-inclusive. You have to order it yourself, within 25 pounds, and you don't get a refund if you pay more, and you get more if you pay less, which is a bit unusual."
The Pheasant Inn ★★★★
"I visit this venue regularly.. The staff are helpful friendly and welcoming the food is delicious the rooms are clean I have previously also stayed in the cottage which is a truly beautiful English cottage experience. The surrounding scenery is spectacular I always look forward to visiting. Highly recommend. As a bonus easy to get to the Observatory and other attractions in the area."
The Railway Hotel ★★★★
"No arrival details were sent, just a link to the hotels dot com app. Some simple instructions regarding the key safe used would have been appreciated. Luckily the girl in the bar had a scrap of paper with the details. The room was small but comfortable and nicely furnished. There's a kitchen/breakfast room with two chairs at a small bar. There's a fridge, toaster, microwave etc but no sink. Unfortunately, it was difficult to use the room because other guests had left three bikes in there, practically filling all the available space. Assuming the management don't actually condone this practice then it suggests a lack of supervision of the property. During the evening there was a lot of noise from the street outside which I assumed was from customers of the pub."
Riverdale Hall Hotel & Leisure ★★★
"I was warmly welcomed on arrival, the room was clean, spacious, with quality toiletries, a lovely piece of shortbread to accompany my coffee and a beautiful view from the patio doors.."
Bay Horse Inn - B&B ★★★
"The hotel in the small town has a bar downstairs where many locals go to drink. The breakfast is delicious."
Battlesteads ★★★★
"Comfortable room, nice selction of toiletries with pleasant scent. lovely food. Battlesteads was able to accommodate a pet dog ( pet pack also included) . Great selection for brealfast and tasty Ringtons coffee. This was a birthday break so only one night stay , Booked bed and breakfast, decided to add evening meal. The village of Wark is lovely to walk around, cross over bridge to football field one way and dog walk the other, weather helped make the stay as it was warm Autumn sunshine. Saw Grey Heron by the riverbank. Would recommend and would go again."
