"Location of hotel is quite good. Need to walk 15 minutes from Hakodate Station. Hotel breakfast provided in Japanese restaurant is fantastically good. Rich variety of local Japanese food. Service provided by hotel was bad n needed to be improved: (1) Check in to hotel is strictly starts at 3pm, which is vy late. Most Japan hotel checks in at 2pm n allows earlier check in. Customers needed to wait n queue up in long line to check in. Hotel is not flexible n has no alternative plans to open up check in earlier even though long queues of people are waiting for 3pm. Long queue is blocking the hotel lobby reception too. Worst is that there are a few staffs sitting at reception counter not doing anything to accommodate to crowded waiting at counter. Vy poor service provided by hotel front office reception. (2) Same thing as waiting in long queue for daily breakfast. Waiting time is too long. Will need the staff to take one by one customer to respective table. There's only one staff taking charge. Will need to upgrade the service by adding one or two more staff to be on duty at the counter."

"Pics, pics, pics! (I've included photos) The food was quite fresh, and the hot spring environment was decent enough. However, the room window didn't block out the light. It felt like the hotel might be discriminating against Chinese people. The convenience store-like shop on the ground floor accepted Alipay in the afternoon, but when I went to buy drinks in the evening, I was told Alipay wasn't accepted. Most importantly, I felt ripped off. This is the first time I've encountered this in Japan – it wouldn't surprise me in Thailand or Malaysia. I had prepaid 41,500 JPY, which was supposed to cover everything except the accommodation tax. The accommodation tax was only 800 JPY, which I expected to pay separately upon arrival. However, the vendor charged me 45,500 JPY. No matter how I tried to communicate, it was useless; they told me to contact the booking platform. Finally, at check-out, they charged me another 2,150 JPY. I can only say that Ctrip was somewhat reliable as they refunded me 230 RMB."

"I was contemplating whether to stay in hotel that is near to JR Hakodate, or Tokyu stay, because Tokyu stay has a washer/dryer in the room. At the end of the, I chosen Tokyu stay, even though it is further away from the JR station. You need to walk about 10mins from the station, which u may want to think twice in winter time. I went during summer, so is manageable. It is so convenient to have a washer/dryer in the room! Everything else was ok and no regrets staying here"

The tram stop (lines 2 and 5) is right next to the hotel, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. The room size was just right, well-equipped with all necessary amenities, including a capsule coffee machine. Excellent value for money!"

"I highly, highly recommend this hotel! It's located near Goryokaku Park, easily accessible by tram from JR Hakodate Station. This area is quite central, with museums, shopping malls, and plenty of great food options nearby – there's even a super delicious soup curry place! A Lawson and 7-Eleven are less than a minute away, and it's also close to Yunokawa Onsen. I recommend this hotel for a couple of reasons. First, the room was exceptionally clean and spacious. I stayed in a king-size room by myself, and it felt more than ample; I could easily fit several suitcases without an issue. Second, the staff's service attitude was excellent – very polite and courteous. I had a meeting in the morning and requested that the cleaning staff not disturb me during that time. Throughout my stay, no one ever knocked on my door; they quietly cleaned the adjacent rooms. Later, when I returned from sightseeing in the evening, I found a bag of fresh toiletries hanging on my door! I was so touched! They were considerate enough not to disturb me by knocking, yet also made sure I had new bathroom supplies. I was deeply impressed by the hotel's service and thoughtful consideration! This was truly the most satisfying hotel experience of my Hokkaido trip. The price was reasonable, the cleanliness was impeccable, and the staff were warm and polite. Next time I visit Hakodate, I'm booking this hotel directly."

"We had a wonderful stay at Hakodate Kokusai Hotel. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, making it very convenient for exploring Hakodate. The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. There was a great selection, including fresh seafood, beef, and other meat dishes, offering something for everyone. The quality and variety made each morning a real treat. We also thoroughly enjoyed the onsen experience. It was clean, relaxing, and the perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, Hakodate Kokusai Hotel offers a great combination of convenience, excellent dining, and relaxing facilities. "It was a Western-style room with a balcony, a view of the ocean in the distance, and a pleasant breeze from outside. I chose the two-meal plan, and the variety, presentation, and quality of both dinner and breakfast were so good that I wanted to try a little bit of everything. I'd definitely like to return. The large public bath was smaller than I expected, and the steam sauna I was looking forward to was out of order, so I couldn't use it, but they did provide ice cream and haskap water for after my bath, which were delicious. There were only two elevators, so it was sometimes difficult to use them during check-in and check-out. However, the elevators were on separate routes to the front desk, restaurant, and bath, so it was easy to get around. In the evening, I enjoyed playing table tennis (1,100 yen per hour)."
