Best Hotels in Grand Baie, Mauritius

We stayed at OceanV, Grand Baie for 7 nights and we absolutely LOVED our stay. We took the “all inclusive” package and I can really recommend this option as this really makes the entire holiday more enjoyable, no need to stress about paying for any drinks, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. Inclusive package review: You get a set menu for lunch and dinner which is always decent. My wife is a fussy eater but always managed to find something to eat. For dinner you can also choose options off the main menu which helps when the kitchen is a bit adventurous with the set menu. The drinks that are included are three types of beer, three types of wine, 8/9 cocktails and three mocktails as well as a wide range of cooldrink and hot beverages. This was really sufficient and if you do want to try anything else, you can always just order from the bar. Room and service review: The staff is extremely friendly and always helpful. The room was perfect, amazing view of the sea and an aircon that we had on the entire time and worked perfectly. The staff cleaned the room and bathroom everyday, no complaints, just compliments. Trips/Excursions: We did not use the hotel’s recommended service providers as they were a bit expensive. We went on a catamaran trip, initially using the hotel connection but after they cancelled we were able to find Coral Belle, a very professional catamaran trip company who have three catamaran’s that go to the islands every day, they have a little shop in sunset boulevard - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We took the bus everywhere, Grand Baie for shopping and Port Louis for the day trip - really worth it regarding the price 24 rs from Pereybere to Grand Baie and 44 rs from Pereybere to Port Louis. Recommended to wait for the express bus to Port Louis if you can, the normal bus takes a quite while longer. Finally, the beach is walking distance, 300m, and we were able to walk around to the beach right in front of the hotel for privacy and less crowded. All Round: We would come back and recommend!!!

Villa Narmada is a lovely, homely place to visit. It's definitely home away from home. Friendly staff, always willing to go an extra mile to make you comfortable. The vibrant manager, the nice gentleman, fondly known as small man make your stay in that villa memorable. An intelligent cleaning lady, by the name of Corine, who speaks English very well, made my stay at Villa Narmada enjoyable, she always helpful and very knowledgeable with the street food and all. I was transported by Max, he took me around interesting places, very reasonable and understanding. He speaks good English, which was a bonus. He doesn't only take you to where you are going, he shares with you the information about places along the way. His number is +230 5768 3909 for those who will be going to Grand Baie. The breakfast was ordinary breakfast, nothing to write home about. Breakfast doesn't need to be expensive to be nice. Basic food like oats and milk can be such a nice and healthy breakfast. There are lots of fruits in Mauritius, tourists will love to have pineapple, mango or banana for breakfast. I must however knowledge that, they gave me some after I asked if I can't get a fruit for breakfast. So they are very accommodative. The towels are a bit old, even though they are changed everyday, and they are clean and smell nice, it's hard to know if they are white, cream white, beige or fawn.

The rooms are great, especially the fully equipped kitchen, which is better than hotel apartments in Europe, Australia, and South America. It is especially suitable for Chinese cuisine. The supermarket is next door. There are tofu, pepper, seafood, and meat. These ingredients are super good. It feels like a kid, it feels great. The people here are relatively prosperous, the people live a leisurely life, the common people play football next to them, and swim and chat by the sea. The climate is very good, much more comfortable than Australia and Thailand, not hot. The plants are lush, sitting on the balcony at night, and the breeze is blowing slowly. It is really Mark Twain who let people enter the dreamland. ”God created Mauritius, and then imitated it to create the Garden of Eden.”

A magnificent hotel in the north-west of the island, Seapoint Boutique Hotel. Upon your arrival you will find in the reception the nice and very kind girls Mrs. Arena and Mrs. Isha, or a very helpful receptionist Mr. Sanjiv. I just returned in Italy from this magnificent, recently renovated place. The rooms, perfectly cleaned like all the common areas of the hotel, still smelled new. A beautiful beach with crystal clear water. There are enough sunbeds for all guests, there is no need to get up early in the morning to ”occupy” a place as happens in many other hotels. It’s really amazing how kind everyone is, your every wish will be fulfilled. They know how to make you feel very important. The General Manager Mr. Kevin is a very nice and incredibly helpful person. He personally welcomes all new guests, always present and kind. The à la carte restaurant offers a different menu every evening, all high quality products. It was all delicious, compliments to the chef. You have to try a cocktails created by Mr. Anoop, always a great choice, he is a true artist. I had an opportunity to stay in the villa . It looked like a 7 stars place. The pictures on the web don't showing enough, the reality is much better. On the ground floor there is a terrace, a large living room, bathroom. On the first floor are two bedrooms with two bathrooms. The second floor of the villa is the best part. A private spa with two massage beds, a large terrace where you can sunbathe in complete tranquility and privacy with a beautiful jacuzzi tub and another service bathroom. Simply incredible. Very pleasant massage done by Mrs. Sara, a very experienced therapist. What to say….it was a fantastic and relaxing stay. Impossible not to feel pampered. The beach is beautiful! The restaurant is delicious! The western food is very authentic, the variety is very complete, no one cares when the dinner is busy, the attitude is not busy, it is understandable. It is actually a bit difficult to go up on the net red swing qwq will stay again next time!

The Bleu de Toi is a beautiful accommodation for families. It is close to the public beach in Pereybere, restaurants and supermarket. You will be surrounded by the kindness and joy of Dimitri, John and their staff. The rooms are beautiful and perfectly cleaned everyday. Breakfast is European and continental. The SPA area with the swimming pool is what you need for relaxing after the day. John and Dimitri will also help you to organize your trips to all the interesting areas, sites and beaches of the fantastic Island. Strongly recommended for everyone who wants to relax outside from the many villages and resorts in the island.

Dodola Lodge is very nicely situated, right opposite the beach of Pereybere - one of the nicest on the island! The room with a small patio is very spacious, clean and quiet. I had a room with a small kitchenette! All at a very affordable price! The staff was very friendly and always ready to assist! Thank you to Kim, Neville and Marie to make my stay so enjoyable. I will definitely come again!
