Veranda Grand Baie Hotel & Spa

This was my first time in Mauritius. The boutique hotel was beautifully renovated and maintained. My room was always cleaned to detail, the staff were so friendly, especially the hotel manager Giany. This made the hotel very different to the large chains as it gave a personal touch. Giany was always around to greet his guests and get to know them, even upon leaving he assisted me with some lost property issues. I think this is a very important aspect of running a hotel. Anything I wanted, he assisted as did the staff! The pool was perfectly situated against a stunning private beach with staff always around to clean/ take orders/ chat to their guests. The food was always fresh at the buffet and there was sufficient choice! I treated myself to a massage at the hotel. My masseuse was very professional and knew exactly what I needed. I couldn’t ask for more. I would definitely stay here again! I absolutely recommend!

We had the most wonderful holiday at Veranda Grand Baie. The staff could not be more accommodating, so friendly and happy. Our accommodation was so comfortable and clean. We had everything and more from great location to lovely local entertainment. We were also so lucky with perfect weather!!

Had the most wonderful stay @ Veranda Grand Baie. We absolutely loved the look and feel of the place - a very Mauritaun experience. We also enjoyed the entertainment every evening. A big thank you & special shout out to Rishi as well as Chef Sudhir for taking care of us & all our dietary requirements - we had the most wonderful experience dining here because of these two gents! Another special shout out to the other pleasant staff members who made our stay memorable - Ansheeka, Suhaib & Ajay. We hope to be back very soon.

It was a beautiful hotel, with really nice shows and the the hotel employees were beyond kind and helpful. Especially Ajay has been more than helpful and kind since the beginning, I wish I could meet an Ajay to every vacation where I go!:) He will make all your wishes come true!!

The stay and service at Veranda Grand Baie Mauritius was absolutely amazing! The finishing touches as well as the ambience of the hotel is top notch & truly Mauritian which makes it extremely memorable. A special thanks to Rishi @ the restaurant for making sure our dietary requirements were always met and for always going the extra mile for us and an another special shoutout to Chef Sudhir for all the delicious food. We will definitely be coming back to Veranda Grand Baie!

I expected the trip to be rainy but there was sun everyday I was so lucky! And when It did rain the staff were great and made everyone’s spirits high. Special (extra big) shoutout to Rishi (waiter), Aurore (boutique staff) and ALL the bar staff but most especially Zach for making my holiday 10/10 you all deserve the world for looking after me on my solo trip ;) MERCI BEAUCOUP 🇬🇧

A great stay at Veranda Grand Baie - a huge part of that down to Ajay Coconuts who really looked after us during our stay - thank you Ajay!

The Veranda Grand Baie was a great choice for me as a solo traveller. For the price I was very happy - there are other hotels around (with an extra star) that cost at least twice as much, but honestly I do not think I would have been any happier staying somewhere more expensive even if I had been willing to pay so much more! The staff and the location ticked a lot of boxes for me. First things I want to say are: the hotel rooms and grounds look exactly like the pictures. The infinity pool is gorgeous and the rooms and communal buildings are beautifully designed with colonial style decor - very restful. Most important thing is a comfortable bed - it was just right (both the firmness of the mattress and the softness of the pillows!) Food was scrumptious - I was on half-board so buffet breakfasts and dinners but I also dined at the Lazy Lobster beach restaurant a couple of times and they do amazing fish and seafood there, cooked and presented to perfection. The main buffet itself had plenty of choice and everything was fresh and good quality. Including some fab desserts (I had too many and not sorry) and of course fresh fruits. What made my stay extra special was the wonderful staff. Everybody made me feel welcome at all times but I would especially like to shout out: KUNAL on front-of-house who greeted me so warmly on arrival and took care of my checking-in, then we would have chats now and again when we bumped into each other during my week's stay.. VICKY (male) guest room manager was very helpful in arranging for me a late check-out on my final day and he helped me organise my spa treatment too. VEER on front desk was also very helpful. "AJAY COCONUTS" what a marvellous man, he was there in the mornings making sure the breakfast tables were properly set, then by mid-morning and until mid-afternoon he was on the Crique bar offering poolside or beach-lounger drinks service. Nothing was too much trouble, and he totally rocks the Hawaiian shirt!! All spoke excellent English (and other languages too!) I would also thank the other AJAY at Lazy Lobster who looked after me both times I dined at the seafood a la carte restaurant. Staff like this really make the difference to a holiday especially as I was travelling solo, so I really appreciated people stopping for a chat from time to time. They are the main reason I will book this hotel again. I treated myself to a head massage at the spa and I would recommend this. It totally got rid of all my tension (as I suffer with migraines.. but my massage therapist said she also suffers with migraines and she knew what was needed!) The only thing I can suggest would improve this hotel is if it were Adults Only. But not if it comes with a massive price hike (which is what has happened with the first hotel I stayed in on Mauritius in 2006; it has subsequently gone Adults Only but the price is now out of my comfort zone!) It is a small secluded hotel where you really expect and deserve peace and quiet and
