What a great stay we had here, great location, amazing staff, lovely comfortable room with a great view . The staff were so helpful and could not have done more to make us feel so welcome. This hotel is situated in beautiful grounds with lovely walks. We can’t wait for our return visit

Just home after the loveliest experience! Just a hop, skip and a jump from Dalscone Farm, (under 30 min safe walk on pavement all the way) which was my destination for several days... and best breakfast ever to start my days! And Hamilton House is a lovely leisurely walk to the River Nith, where I got fish and chips to bring back to my room. Thank you Rena and Derek for making me feel so very welcome... and for putting me in touch with Mark at DumfriesTours who took me on an amazing 5 hr whistlestop tour around the area on my last day, delivering me to the train station to head to Glasgow. Stayed here for a birthday celebration long weekend with my partner. Freya was a fantastic host and very accommodating and helpful. Ample parking outside the property for cars, and grounds very clean. There was accommodation in a separate building in the grounds which can be stayed in also. Good location, we drove down but a hop, skip and jump from Dumfries train station. 10-15 min walk to town centre, 25 minute walk from Crichton park and 10 minute drive to Dumfries Royal infirmary. Room itself very modern, clean and quiet. Stayed in a double room and it had an en suite toilet and shower - well equipped and shower was fab; great water pressure and never wanted to get out! Bed was comfortable and lovely bedding. Very nice touches in the room for residents: coffee machine with nice Costa capsules, biscuits and equipped with iron and board. Got breakfast as part of our stay and was good quality full breakfast. Was just what we needed to set us up before Parkrun! Freya was very good at suggesting where to visit in the local area and we will be sure to visit again soon, we had a relaxing stay. Would recommend for anyone, staying for a work trip, visiting friends or family or having a break away. Thanks a mill!

We loved our stay ... 2 adults, 2 children in room 7. Fab breakfasts, big roomy room, a must was fast WiFi.... I worked from the room on Wednesday afternoon, girls on their devices at the same time on wifi.. No problems. Loads to do locally close by. Room had toiletries and was posted to additional towels and toiletries if needed.... Really found that if we needed anything we asked and it was no trouble... Extra toilet rolls, nearest sit in Chinese Food restaurant, more toast please, ... Amanda and everyone were happy to oblige and help with all and everything. Couldn't have been better looked after and had a lovelier stay.

Stayed one night to break up the long journey home from Ireland. I stayed in room 5 overlooking the garden and a lovely church. Coffee making facilities were very good, with nice buiscuits and chocolate mints. I slept with the window open and was not disturbed by any noise. This is an old listed building, and the room looked a little tired, but I was not there long enough for this to really matter. Unfortunately I did not find the bed to be very comfortable, but you can not please every guest, and it is all down to personal preference. Breakfast was included and ordered the night before. A lovely young lady brought my breakfast, which was very good, and set me up for the rest of my journey. Would I stay here again? Certainly.

The hotel room is decorated like a KTV. The location of the hotel is very remote. It does not go into the city. The road to the hotel is blocked by traffic and causes a tire blowout. The road to the hotel is really difficult. The service staff at the hotel are very enthusiastic. The breakfast at the hotel is average. It is generally not recommended to book if you don’t have a car. It is expensive and inconvenient. My friend insisted on making a reservation, but had no choice. Anyway, the way to the hotel felt like driving into a forest. There was no one on the way and the trees were all gloomy. It was difficult to get in. The hotel didn't look like a castle to me, it just kind of looked like it. Not great value for money, other things are fine. The hotel room is really big in the UK. It also has a bathtub and a big toilet. However, the decoration is hard to say like a KTV. It is too big and looks a bit scary. The lobby looks okay during the day, and the hotel entrance is also good. It’s really scary at night~
