"We stayed at this hotel as part of a road trip with friends, and it turned out to be a particularly special stop for us. One of our group actually began his career in hospitality here decades ago, working as a waiter. Hearing his stories of learning the trade in this very place, before going on to become a highly successful UK hotelier, added a real sense of occasion to the stay. Having experienced it for ourselves, we can absolutely see why it left such a lasting impression on him. The service was impeccable throughout, attentive, polished, and delivered with a natural ease that reflects genuine hospitality rather than something forced. The rooms were fantastic, beautifully presented, comfortable, and in keeping with the quality you hope for in a setting like this. The views were equally impressive, adding to the overall sense of being somewhere quite special. For those travelling by car, the parking was also a real plus, making it an ideal stop on a road trip without any of the usual hassle. All in all, a memorable stay, made even more meaningful by the personal connection and history."

"I stayed for two nights. This hotel is centrally located and old world, which is a plus and a minus. It is a tram ride above the city. The grounds and building are outstanding. But they have kept it very old world. For example, my room was quite small and had no telephone. The room had no tub. I had asked for a glass of ice to chill critical medication - at the desk because of no phone - and I got the strangest glare, asking me what I needed it for. I told them, and they said they didn’t do that. They said they would “request” it, but it never came. When I checked again they offered to put it in their fridge, but I was not going to be separated from critical meds while in Europe where my medication is not offered. So my expensive medication will need to be thrown out when I get back. Two things I advise on. First, you must take a tram to the hotel. It runs every 15 minutes during the peak of day, but as infrequently as every 30 minutes early and late. There is nothing but frustration trying to get there by 9, but then getting your dinner check in town slowly, then arriving at 9:02 and needing to wait 30 minutes for the next tram. Second, the hotel is very hard to find because there is only the tram stop at the road. Although there is a big sign drivers can’t find it because there is no building with the name on it. If in doubt, go to the hotel Europa. That is where the driver will insist that that is your hotel. The tram is right next door on the right side. Probably easier to tell the driver to drop you at Europa, then walk the 50 feet till the tram. This hotel is best if you are there with few hard commitments, and just want to bask in the ambience and mountains. I was there for an event in town, and it is frustrating racing through breakfast to get the last tram that will let you arrive to and from the bottom in time with the tram."

"Already the welcome you receive at the check in is very warm and friendly. Staff is happy in what they are doing and this reflects to all the staff in the hotel and the restaurants. They take their time for the guests and no question you ask is to much for them. The rooms have a nice balcony where you can enjoy the stunning view of the Buedner Alps. We made a tour with Mr. Lanz, the director of the hotel and we experienced the beauty of Switzerland!"

"You can see the snow-capped mountains from the room window. The hotel is very warm. If you stay in winter, you can open the French windows a little when the room temperature is too high. The room is spacious, bright and clean, and the bedding is of good quality. The location is good and the transportation is convenient. There is a big supermarket next door. It is quiet and not noisy."

"This was the best value hotel on this European trip. The location is easy to find, with a 10 Swiss franc parking lot. Not far from the train station, supermarkets, restaurants, and shops, there's also a cable car to the top of the mountain. You can get a discount on the bus ticket you get with the hotel's provided bus card! The room and facilities were all good. It was quiet at night, the breakfast was good, and the front desk staff was helpful in answering any questions. Highly recommended."

"Beautiful hotel, stayed there 24 June for a week with a group with Titan Travel. Room was great, more like a little suite, plenty of room. Breakfast superb, everything you could want. "We were with friends for 2 nights in two rooms in Solaria. They had gone there another time and the reservation was in their name. We were accommodated in room 2102. When we were checking in, we looked around the room, there is no check list of what is available such as glasses, dishes, furniture, chairs, coffee machines, etc. We left the hotel at 08:30 we left the key at the reception and no one wanted to see the room in what condition we leave it and what is available. After 3 hours of leaving, the amount of 400 CHF was withdrawn from our friends' card without warning and they received an email accusing us of moving chairs from one room to another and tearing the upholstery of one chair and for that they stopped the money. We went back to the hotel to check what we had done but the manager was very arrogant and rude to us and said you were right. We asked to see the chair, which they accused us of being torn. An employee brought it and when we asked which room the chair was from, he said a completely different room number than the one we were in. Much bitterness and disappointment remained with our stay in Solaria. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT FOR ACCOMMODATION. But if you are still booked into staying overnight, please check everything very carefully when you check in, so that you don't end up being a victim too."

"Stayed for 5 days for a holiday in the snow. The hotel is beautifully located above Davos, only to be reached by a private cable car. When you arrive you feel you enter a film scene, where you can write the script. The whole atmosphere is one you will never forget, it is if you go back in time when only the happy few went on holiday. The hotel is done in beautiful architecture and is very elegant. Wood, marble and stone. Jugendstil details. Food is great, the staff friendly and helpful. You can sled down every night, on a private lighted sled course, and there is a great slope & ski lift is included in the hotel stay on the back of the hotel. Some things are older but that makes the hotel even better. I rather see something done with craft and nice materials then plastic fantastic. I have seen reviews of people who made a picture of some faded paint or a stain in the carpet.... that the hotel was older then they expected and some other silly bla bla. It is like not admiring a pretty lady but only concentrating on a pimple. f you like character and elegance and a hotel that one of a kind you should stay here. If you want a kind of mediocre middle class so called luxury, there are plenty of other hotel chains that cater to that. I will be back Hotel Schatzalp, I had a fantastic time!"
