When we checked out, we took the remaining water with us. The breakfast is also delicious, with freshly made knife-cut noodles and millet porridge. I drank three bowls in a row. When we arrived we were given the wrong room in B tower with single beds, we had to go back downstairs and show the booking again to request the correct double room in A tower. The rooms and amenities are old, and the fridge is broken. I called reception who told me to bring any items I want to cool down to the reception and use their fridge, when I asked if we can swap the broken fridge for a working fridge, they said all of the fridges are like this. They won't admit the fridges are all broken, but all of the fridges in the hotel are warm and won't make your food / beverages cold. The hotel is in dire need of an upgrade, and they need to replace the fridges.

Very good experience with hotel. Room was comfortable and the bathroom design is good. Reception staff was very helpful and provided good advice of Datong's tourist attractions. Hotel provided refreshment in the evening which was an excellent way to differentiate itself from the competition. Tried their chicken during early lunch and it was really tasty. Also, the staff kindly allowed me to play their Yamaha piano at the lobby. I would recommend this hotel to people visiting Datong.

I loved this hotel. It has an old-fashioned charm that made me feel right at home. My room was very large, comfortable, and well-equipped. All of the staff and service people were extremely courteous from start to finish. The Chinese restaurant on the 7th floor has a great choice of dishes! Highly recommended, and excellent value for money. A great base for exploring the sights around Datong.

We spent two wonderful nights at Yungang Hotel in Datong. First of all, our deepest gratitude to Yang wen yuan - 杨文元. When booking from Europe, we did not realise correctly the time required to get to the caves and to the hanging monastery (a must view when in Datong). We thought that by using public transport we could manage to do both in a short period of time. So wrong! We arrived and Yang wen yuan - 杨文元 reassured us and in less than 30 minutes he was able to help and book for us a private car for the next day. He made our stay unforgettable. Thanks a lot from both of us if you are reading ! Plus, this hotel is wonderful : super new, technological and the staff is super kind (from the ones in the lobby to the ones in the restaurant/cafeteria). Breakfast is amazing. You can have everything, freshly made for you.

The location is very good. I stayed in another homestay on the list the day before. I was not satisfied and moved to Yunzhong. Then I found that the location is much better. The bell tower and drum tower are around. It is very convenient for dining and sightseeing. It is the fireworks we want. But the inn is very quiet, and there is no noise to affect the rest. The service is very thoughtful, and every staff is very kind. We ordered fruit for takeout. Not only did they put it in the refrigerator for us, but they also told us that the inn has its own watermelon. If you want to eat it, just tell them. We changed the ticket temporarily, and they helped us contact the car to the high-speed rail station at 2:30 in the morning. The most touching thing is that the inn also arranged a brother to send my daughter to the car waiting on the street outside. When the door opened at 2:20am, the brother was sitting quietly in the yard waiting, getting up earlier than us. I am really grateful. The business car of the inn feels bigger than the general business car, and the master who took us to the airport is also very polite. Helped us upgrade the room, and it was not crowded after adding a bed, and there was a smart toilet. The courtyard with several entrances is very tasteful, but it’s a pity that I didn’t have time to take a closer look. We also gave local souvenirs before leaving. Very good B&B, quaint and quiet in a busy city. It is convenient to go anywhere in the ancient city, and the late check-out can be until 3 o'clock! The boss is warm and hospitable. After arriving at the store, he learned that we were traveling as a family and had booked different room types in two courtyards, so he took the initiative to upgrade our room type. You can also order food in the B&B. If you are tired and don't want to go out, you can eat in the small courtyard. I feel that it will be more beautiful in summer when the plants grow in the courtyard!

Our family and friends traveled to Datong together and booked 5 rooms. Everyone liked this hotel. The hot water in the bathroom was powerful. After a day of playing, I was tired and took a hot bath to clear away all the fatigue. The room has everything you need, the mattress is moderately soft and hard, the room is clean and bright, and the hotel staff are polite and considerate. I will definitely stay here next time I come back.
