"One night in July 2026, booked through Airbnb, three guests. Finding the house was the first ordeal: the published address, the map pin and the key instructions were all wrong — the property is listed on Google Maps five times under different names and pins — and we only got in after two late-night calls to the owner, who was impatient both times. Inside we found a dead mouse on the kitchen floor, a second dead mouse by the pool, a dead cockroach, a stained pillow, a large stain over the bed and a badly soiled shower; a garden bench collapsed when one of us sat on it. Beautiful setting, historic character — but reviews here from 2023 describe the same problems, so nothing has changed. At this price, unacceptable."
