"was traveling back form Queensalnd and we were staying Clare for 3 nights and we found this lovely accomodation. Fran was a fantastic host asking dietary questions for our stay and she kept in contact through out our stay. once entering the cottage it was clean tidy and the breakfast provision were outstanding . the only comment I have to say is the bathroom could do with a little TLC was looking a bit dated .But comfortable cosy and quiet ."

"We did not stay but made a detour to visit the place where the first grapes in Clare Valley were grown! What a property! We did not realise until we visited the important place it has in the history of Clare Valley. Great self directed tour of a beautiful property. What an amazing history- thank you for sharing it with us. Would love to stay one day!"

Neagles Retreat Villas ★★★★
"It was one of the best accomodation we have stayed in. It was soooo spacious and the view was amazing. It was very well equiped and clean. The kitchen had everything one need eg coffee machine with supplied coffee pods, full size fridge, stove, dishwasher, oven and microwave. We stayed in a two room house and both rooms had an attached bathroom. It’s a 10mins drive to min street of Clare. It has a gas fire place and ducted heating and cooling. Feels like Home away from home. Wild go back there in a flash!"

Clare Hillside Apartments ★★★★
"The apartments are wonderfully luxe. We went on a Travel Auction. Every amenity that you can think of, space, king size bed, modern bathroom, modern kitchen, huge tv, heating. Nice and quiet. Close to the main street of Clare with path and bridge across the river. Our view from the panorama windows was spoiled a little as ours looked out on the cars behind a business that tall trees didn't completely block out. The balcony has an electronically operated screen which is good for shade and keep the bugs out."

Bungaree Station ★★★★
"We would be interested in returning to Bungaree Station with friends or family to stay in one of the larger cottages/houses. Most of the accommodation options do seem to have reasonably privacy. We had the small Stallion Box, which was absolutely perfect and private for a couple staying just for one night, and it provided all we needed. The fire kept us extremely comfortable and the kitchen had all we needed, other than perhaps a few more tea towels would be good because since you need to do your washing up (no little dishwasher in the kitchenette) the couple that are provided become extremely soaked quickly! But it would be nice to stay a few nights and relax with others in one of the larger buildings and soak up even more of that iconic and charming Australian setting at Bungaree. The place really seems ‘stuck in time’ but in a lovely way! The audio box recordings around the property were great to listen to for learning the fantastic property history, but we were not able to hear them all – so a good reason to return! The boxes are solar powered but even some that were in full sun were not working. The information about the restoration of the stained glass in the little church is really fascinating and worth a listen. We were a bit dismayed about the state of many of the grave stones in the burial yard. It would be lovely to see some of those restored too – or perhaps a little booklet put in the church detailing who is buried there and what some of the illegible engravings are meant to say? It is especially generous of the family members in residence at the main homestead that they do allow you to enter their private gardens. It is lovely to do that and to go to the base of the gardens to get a great vantage point to look back towards the beautiful house. The people we encountered were lovely and enthusiastic and it does feel very much like you are visiting a family home/farm rather than being at some contrived agricultural tourism operation, which is great. When we arrived at the property, we knew we wanted to cook in the accommodation rather than go out if possible, so we were lucky there were a couple of bits (not much though!!) of frozen Bungaree lamb available to purchase in the Station Store and that we still had enough time for it to defrost before BBQing it that night! The items you can buy in the Store are very minimal but good quality – cheese, crackers, white wine etc. We were told their stocks were very low, so it is probably best not to rely on those supplies if you are looking to self-cater instead of going into Clare for dinner. It turns out, however, that we had actually received a catering options email from Bungaree about a week before but it had gone into the spam folder so we hadn’t seen it unfortunately. It offered the option to pre-purchase ready-made meals from an external supplier, which seemed a great option, or also BBQ packs from Bungaree. But we are really surprised that those packs just include st"

Brice Hill Country Lodge ★★★★
"My surprise birthday gift was a 4 night stay at this cozy country lodge located in the Clare Valley just out of the town centre. From the bay window, your accommodation overlooks the beautifully manicured gardens and wine trail. The space is very comfortable in size and furnishings, as well as having a well equipped kitchenette. The generous breakfast supplies cater for the hot breakfast lovers as well as those who just want a light continental start to their day. We were however somewhat disappointed by the the coffee pods provided, given the property's 'luxury' status. Nespresso pods would have been nice to go with the Nespresso machine. (I do realise everyone's taste for coffee varies so this is just a side note for the coffee loves). The mattress and linen on the bed were perfect for a really comfortable sleep and the electric blanket was also there if needed. The bathroom was very spacious with a great sized spa which we really enjoyed using while there. Overall we enjoyed a peaceful, very comfortable stay."
