GGuest UserThis is not a review of the hotel but our experience of the customer service provided by Rooms at Riversedge Golden prior to arrival, specifically around information given about significant highway closures which can at best be described as selective, at worst deceitful/inaccurate/untruthful. Anybody considering booking this accommodation between September 25 to October 6 should be aware that the main route (highway 1) to/from Golden is closed both ways. The alternate route will add at least 2 hours to your journey to/from Golden. This hotel believes this is an acceptable alternative for guests who they know full well will be visiting several of the attractions in the area, all of which will be inaccessible during this time. The hotel did not inform us of this road closure. Instead we received the below information after we had booked in August: “Thank you once again for booking with us! For those guests travelling eastbound to Golden from Calgary, please be advised that there is construction on the Trans-Canada Highway just outside of Golden. Guests can expect minor delays during the day, up until 10:00pm (MT), at which time the highway closes. The highway remains closed throughout the night until 7:00am, and requires guests to take an alternate route. Should you have any questions or would like additional information we ask you to contact guest services at 250-272-1212.” Nowhere does it state the highway would be closed during our booking period. This information I found out myself the day before our arrival when planning our route. No refund was offered so I feel no choice to leave a negative review due to insufficient communication given to us about the highway closure during our specific planned dates of stay. It would not be asking too much for someone at this accommodation to inform guests who had booked during the period of the highway closure the true facts.

GGuest UserOriginally I looked forward to writing this review thinking I had found a great little hotel with big clean rooms, friendly staff and an even better price but I was very wrong. Check in went smooth the woman was friendly and answered all my questions only thing I want to mention is we were told absolutely no cooking in the room or we would be charged and there was a $100 deposit taken. We were only given one physical key instead of cards but no big deal. As a friend unloaded the vehicle with us a staff member came out very concerned there was a third guest that had not been charged for. After assuring her he was only helping unload the bags she returned to the office. Once in the room (102) we were pleasantly surprised to see the size of it however the layout was a little odd. The bathroom was positioned off the back bedroom so you had to pass by the bed to use which could be inconvenient had someone been trying to sleep. While there was plenty of open space in the rooms the table could have been a little larger but it did what it needed to. It had the usual amenities like microwave, coffee pot and a full size fridge which was nice. The heat in the room was uncontrollable and extremely high, we closed off the floor registers and opened up the back windows which made it tolerable. The only complaint to say about the room was the lack of a bedroom door, the privacy would be nice and also a bathroom fan is generally good. Highway noise was less noticeable than expected and the beds were decent so we both slept well. Now next morning I went over to front desk at about 10am and informed the woman that we would like to extend one night and would be over to pay for the extra night, she insisted it had to be paid by 11:30am. At 11:26am (Telus cell phone time) a staff member began banging on the door raising his voice telling us to get out of the room. We were very confused as we had just got shoes on to go pay for the extra night. Once the door opened up it was clear we were not going to be paying another night. We tried our best to explain we were walking to the office but the staff did not want to hear it or care. Repeatedly we were told to get out of the room, even as we showed cash in hand to cover the room charge and apologized for cutting it down to the last minute. Finally we couldn’t take it any longer and closed the door (11:31am) thinking maybe someone else who worked there would come and correct this staff members behavior but unfortunately that didn’t happen. We sat confused and wondering how things turned this way so quickly and decided to offer one last time to pay for the extra night, we even pointed out that it would be quicker to pay the extra than it would be to pack up the room but they wanted nothing to do with us. We packed up as quickly as possible and left the room in great condition with no damage, no big mess and nothing missing. We then went to the front desk to ask for the $100 deposit to be returned that was taken off a debit

A typical motel, although the appearance of the house is average, but because it is a BW chain, the facilities in the house are complete and new. In fact, breakfast is included, with bacon, potatoes, pancakes, waffles, boiled eggs and various hot and cold drinks, which is enough for a western breakfast and provides enough calories for the next day's driving. The room is a little small, and the shower room is also small. There are various restaurants in the town center and parking is also convenient.

Vvivianhu2Stayed here halfway to and from Banff. It was clean and there were not many breakfast varieties. You can make your own waffles. The hotel is relatively close to the railway tracks, and you can hear the sound of the train passing by, but it did not affect sleep.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Palliser Lodge in room 212. Check-in was at the Glacier which they don't tell you ahead of time. The condo is a small one bedroom facing the hill. There is no view because the hill slopes up quickly behind the building. The room was big enough for my wife and I. Frying pans were disgusting. The rest of the condo was well stocked. The ski storage room was full so we had to store our skis in our vehicle. There is a small hot tub which is looking old. You want to have the jets running so you don't see the condition of the water. For some reason we were the only ones who used the hot tub all weekend. :) The cost per night was very high and not worth it considering the size, view and overall condition of the unit.

The hotel has free parking, breakfast, the most important hot pool and swimming pool with large water slides. Children like it very much, but the room is quite good, but the room is quite good. Very clean, bathing hot water is very good. There is a Chinese restaurant around. The service staff is very patient and enthusiastic.
