Hotels near Original Playboy Mansion in Chicago

I had high hopes for this hotel because of the location and a few of the ratings I read before booking...but our experience was not at all what I expected. First, the hotel doesn't have thermostats in each room. Our room was hot and stuffy when we arrived. There was a wall fan (like many hotels have) in there and it was turned on but did absolutely nothing to change the feel in the room. I called the front desk and they confirmed that the hotel is all on one heating/cooling system with no thermostats in the rooms. They suggested we open the window(s). We did this, but even on the 11th floor, the amount of noise we could hear from outside was ridiculous. We left the windows open while we went out to explore the city and the room felt a little better when we returned, but it was not comfortable for us to sleep because of noise, temperature, and the bed. Speaking of the bed...this brings me to the 2nd issue we had with our room. I would liken the comfort level of the bed to throwing a blanket on the floor and sleeping there. The mattress and pillows were horrible. To anyone reading this - if you don't like a firm bed, look for another hotel! Now, all was not lost on the issues we had. I visited the Warwick Allerton with a group of friends over a three night stay. The hotel is older, in the midst of a remodel. Our room was fine, appeared to be remodeled. It was clean, comfortable bed and furniture. Housekeeping had to be scheduled and we ran out of toilet paper before the scheduled service. Additionally our wifi was continually disconnecting. Alicia from the front desk offered to come up to our room, reset our wifi and delivered 2 rolls of toilet paper. She arrived within minutes of me talking to her. She was friendly and very helpful. The hotel charges a $15.00 daily service fee. The restaurant was closed for remodeling and there was no food on the premises. There may have been a gym, which we did not use. I fail to see the benefits of the facility fee and would rather just have the room charge be higher if the hotel needs to make a higher profit on the rooms. The hotel is in a good location for shopping and restaurants. The valet service was also efficient.

It was a very relaxed day and night. The service was very nice everybody was so welcoming. The breakfast was not that good for the price I made with the night of the hotel. Coffee was watery

Our family if 4 had a two queen room on the 27th floor, with a partial view toward Lake Michigan (picture out the window attached). Picture upon arrival of the lobby, in the room and bathroom also attached. Picture in the restaurant & bar is also inserted. Breakfast is not included at this Hilton Garden, but the downstairs restaurant was good. This Hotel is a very easy walk across Michigan Avenue and RR tracks to the lakefront, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, & Soldier field. From the airport we took the Blue line to the Lasalle station and walked about 20 minutes to the hotel.

The hotel is relatively clean, in a large hotel park, ten minutes from the airport. The only downside is the matching, no supermarket, restaurant. The water in the room is charged, 3 knives a bottle.

Cheap, convenient transportation, 10 minutes walk from Fullerton subway station, take the bus to the city center, the subway is half a small. Located in a residential area, the surrounding environment is good and quiet. The public restrooms and showers are hygienic, the waiters are warm and friendly, and a complimentary, simple American breakfast is served, and freshly made popcorn is provided free of charge from noon to evening. There is a 24h self-service laundry room, washing powder + laundry + dry clothes for a total of 4 dollars can wash a large cylinder of clothing. There is a kitchen to cook your own meals, and a refrigerator to store food. Next to the Fullerton subway, there is a large supermarket with plenty of food and vegetables.

This is probably one of the best hostels I've stayed at in the U.S. I've stayed at this hostel twice now. The first time was in 2015 and the second time this past month for Market Days. Location: The hostel is centrally located in Downtown Chicago/the Loop. It's easily accessible to get to and from O'Hare Airport via the Blue Line which runs 24 hours. The closest CTA station is Jackson Station which also has connections to many other CTA lines. The hostel is also located within walking distance to many other tourist hotspots like Millennium Park, Broadway shows, Lou Malnati's Pizza (10 minutes), etc. There's also a CVS Pharmacy at the corner of the street that sells liquor and other essentials. On the weekday, the area is bustling with downtown workers, but on the weekends, it's like a ghost town. Most restaurants and stores close by 8/9pm. The only place to eat at if you have a late night is Taco Bell which closes at 2am. Another downside is that there are a lot of homeless people that have set up camp in front and around the hostel, so some people may feel unsafe walking around. Security: The property is very secure. There are multiple entry points to get into the hostel with a key card. There's another entry point to get access to the elevator banks that lead to the rooms as well as required card access to go upstairs and into the rooms. There's also a 24-hour front desk. This was a saving grace for me because my flight from New York was delayed that I ended up arriving at 3:30am. Keep in mind, if you plan to arrive after 3am, you should notify/call the front desk and let them know otherwise they'll mark you as a no-show and cancel your reservation. They also have storage lockers/a luggage room for a fee. Facilities/Amenities: My original reservation was for a 4-bed male dormitory, but there was someone sleeping in my assigned bunk. When you arrive, there is a fitted sheet, pillow sheets, a bath towel, and a face towel (no comforter). You are expected to make your bed. Since I arrived so late and my roommates were already asleep, the overnight staff (DJ) was nice enough to put me in an 8-bed dormitory that was unoccupied, so that I didn't wake up anyone. Both rooms were very spacious/high ceilings/massive windows with a lot of space to store luggage and walk around. All the rooms have lockers (bring your own lock or buy one at the front desk). In the 4-bed dorm, there is a common area with a kitchen/bathroom that connects with 2 suites. The 8-bed room is setup where the toilet, shower, and sink are all in separate areas instead of all in one room. The shower area has dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There are also common showers and toilets on every floor. The downside of the dormitory is that you can't control the temperature of the room. Summers in Chicago are hot and humid and the room was kept in the 60s, which I loved. But, my roommates thought it was too cold for them. The WiFi access is very stable and fast. Th

From our initial checkin we were greeted with friendly staff! They were happy to help in any way possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The room was clean and plenty big enough for 4 us, 2 Adults and 2 Teenagers. Clean with everything we needed. Gym for one of our sons, printed schoolwork for another and provided great tour information. The Hotel is located in absolutely the best position for walking. Surrounded by restaurants, shops as well as having their own kitchen on site. We had a Buffett breakfast on our last morning which was great. AC Hotel provided us a perfect start to our family holiday. We will be back in 2023!

It is very close to the airport, a little more than walking distance, and it costs 30 dollars for Uber to come here in the early morning. The hotel is equipped with a special car to send you to the airport, at midnight on the hour, and during the day when it is busy, it is basically half an hour. Sleeping conditions are good. Pay attention to the shower head to the bottom, which is basically a 360-degree opening range. Praise!

I don't even know where to start here. So, I came up with my parents as my mother was having surgery at Northwestern. I called the hotel directly and asked if they had a patient rate for the days we were goint to be there and I was told yes. It was a great patient rate, so I booked one room for my parents with the patient rate, and one room for myself at full rate. I also had other family that came up and booked their own rooms as full rate. Our family had 5 rooms in total. Once I arrived, I pulled up to the hotel and there was no valet in site. I dropped my parents off, proceeded to unload the car and went to check in. I was going to just valet park for the night and I told the person checking us in that there was not a valet outside. She looked out and said ”yes he is right there”. He was sitting at a table smoking and talking to someone. She called him to come in and he asked me if I needed a cart. I said ”I did about 10 minutes ago”. I checked my parents into the patient room and then I checked into mine. The hotel itself is fine but in no way justifies the price tag AT ALL. Nothing special. I knew house keeping was every other day and on day 4 I called down to the front desk and let them know that housekeeping had never come to my room. She looked it up and she said ”I have actually never seen this before. It says that house keeping was requested not to come and that they were supposed to just do a wellness check”. I have no idea what that means either and it certainly was not requested by me. I told her I was going to the hospital and that to please send them to my room as the garbage needed changed, bedding needed changed and I was was out of towels. I went to the hospital and went into my room and is all housekeeping did was dump a bunch of towels on the bed. NOTHING ELSE. So, next day was check out day for my parents room. I was staying anther day. I went down to check out of my parents room and guess what? On my parents bill they only gave them the patient rate for 1 night! The whole reason why we picked this hotel was so that it would not be a finanacial burden for my parents. I told them at the front desk that when I booked the room over a month ago, that rate was available for all 5 nights. A ”manager” came from the back and told me ”sorry it's not available”. I said that makes no sense. I called probably 30 hotels and some had the rate only for a couple of days, some hotels did not have it available at all so I did not book there. He said ”we only get 20 rooms at that rate”. I said I understood that but when I booked the rate a month ago I was one of those 20 rooms. He then asked who I had booked with. I booked directly through the hotel. He said ”no the employee”. I told him I had no idea but I could tell him the date I booked and I also had the confirmation number. He said ” I cannot tell by that.” He said there was nothing he could do and I would have to talk to R
