Crown Hotel ★★★

📍 13 Main St, Callander

"Dropped in here for lunch after a trike tour, really enjoyed it, my wife had fishcakes and I had haggis neeps and tatties with whisky sauce. Piping hot, lovely flavour, large portions, and all served quickly by a really nice guy and his female colleague, sorry we didn't catch your names. Well done, we will be back."

Callander Hostel

Callander Hostel ★★

📍 6 Bridgend, Callander

"Unfortunately my father passed away 3 weeks before to go and they rejected directly to refund us the reservation a cause of the policy of the company. We booked a triple room for my father (died) my mother and me. And after write them replied "medical issues" aren't included in our policy of non-refundable bookings. INHUMAN!!!"

Lubnaig Guest House

Lubnaig Guest House ★★★★

📍 Leny Feus, Callander

"We stayed 3 night at this guest house. It was our last stop before returning home and it was by far the best stay we had! We felt spoiled by Francesca and Stefano. The room was clean, big, the beds were extremely comfortable; the shower was pure heaven. The only thing I would suggest would be to put some blackout blind in front of the small bathroom window. This would allow to leave the bathroom door open during the night and allowing some heat to get into the bathroom in the morning (because it was quite chilly). We only had one dinner (they didn’t serve it the 2 other evenings) and it was “grande cuisine”, very tasty, very well presented. Breakfast was with the same quality standards. This place is a real gem!"

Crown Hotel ★★★
"We found the hotel on Dugs N Pubs, and went in for lunch. They were very busy and that is a vote of confidence in itself. In total we were in for two and a half hours with apology for delay mentioned generally. The food was no doubt affected by the pressure the staff were expensing, but was at the poor end of the quality scale. Goats cheese salad had tough cheese rind and was not warmed and nestled in salad with garlic bread which was unenjoyable. The Hunters chicken was not dry but the cheese seemed to have been too long under the hot plate. Served with salad and chips. The dogs were tolerated and the beer fantastic. All in all, not an enjoyable experience."

Callander Hostel ★★
"Review of main hostel, not the pods which looked excellent. Good location, friendly staff on arrival and great garden space for relaxing...however I wouldn't stay in the main hostel again...clean room and shower facilities but the room window opened only a couple of cms but when shut blocked out none of the noise from the cars passing directly in front of the building until well after midnight. The kitchen was well-equipped and the common space large and clean. The main negative was the comfort of the bed. I'm not particularly heavy at 75kg but when lying on my side I could feel each mattress spring to the point where I considered getting my camping mattress and lying on the floor. For context the previous night I'd wild-camped and slept much better. The hostel is run by a social enterprise which I'd love to continue to support but not until they improve the beds!"

"My wife and I road tripped around Scotland for our Honeymoon and Callander was our favourite stop largely because of this lovely BnB. Our hosts were incredibly personable and their home was so lovely and comfy to stay in. We will definitely be back on our next trip!"

Ben A'an House ★★★
"Chose Callander for a stop travelling south as I remembered it from happy childhood holidays caravanning by the river. Lovely wee town with nice shops, a decent pub (we had a hearty modestly-priced meal in The Crown), and an interesting main street. Ben A’an House is a good option for a night in the town, with spacious rooms and a lovely large and clean bathroom. The host Callum is friendly and attentive and provides a great breakfast. Loved the option to spin some vinyl in the breakfast room - neat idea!"
