Palace Hotel & Spa
8.1 (108 reviews)

Palace Hotel & Spa ★★★★

📍 Palace Rd, Buxton

"Staff are friendly and helpful, lovely christmas decorations. Located right next to train station. Their car park was full when we arrived so we had to wait for someone to leave to park up the car. Room is relatively small for this price but perfect for a short stay with the location. Corridor needs some work."

Buxton Crescent
8.8 (128 reviews)

Buxton Crescent ★★★★

📍 The Crescent, Buxton

"Honestly, all the hotels in this small town are close to the attractions, but Crescent really is in the heart of it. The breakfast is good; try to go early to beat the crowd, definitely don't miss it. I found two blonde hairs in the room, but overall, the cleanliness was acceptable. I accidentally pulled the emergency alarm in the bathroom, but no one came to assist for over 8 minutes. I had to go to the front desk myself to ask a staff member to turn it off. If you're traveling with elderly people, please keep this in mind. Also, I highly recommend paying extra to use the spa facilities; otherwise, staying at this hotel wouldn't make much sense, as guests don't have access to the pool. Unfortunately, the Roman-style baths in the basement were under maintenance when I visited, and the indoor baths on the second floor were too stuffy, while the outdoor baths were so windy it gave me a headache."

YHA Ravenstor
8.5 (21 reviews)

YHA Ravenstor ★★★

📍 Miller's Dale, Buxton

"This YHA is in such a beautiful location! We stayed in a private room, the beds were clean and comfortable and most importantly for me the showers were hot and had good water pressure! The host here, I forget her name, young blonde girl (early 20's maybe?), she was amazing, made us feel so at home, chatting and laughing away with my mum (who also loved the place) We will definitely return!"

Best Western Plus Buxton Lee Wood Hotel
8.8 (91 reviews)

Best Western Plus Buxton Lee Wood Hotel ★★★★

📍 The Park, Park Rd, Buxton

"Best Western Plus Buxton Hotel Stayed here for one night during my Peak District trip. The hotel is very well located, right in the centre of Buxton and close to the Pavilion Gardens, bus stops, and walking routes. The room was clean, comfortable, and warm — perfect after a long day of hiking. Staff were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was smooth and hassle-free. A solid choice if you’re exploring Buxton and the Peak District using public transport."

Old Hall Hotel
7.8 (104 reviews)

Old Hall Hotel ★★★

📍 The Square, Buxton

"This is an older hotel, but the rooms are cozy and the location is excellent, in the center of the town, not far away there is a very good Italian restaurant. The hotel spa is also great!"

Premier Inn Buxton
8.4 (41 reviews)

Premier Inn Buxton ★★★

📍 131 London Rd, Buxton

"Location was great for walking in to town. Staff were friendly, curtious and professional. We stayed in one of the superior rooms which was beautiful and well equipped. As it was January the price was really good. Communal areas looked clean, bedroom and bathroom were spotless. It was a nice quiet hotel with plenty of parking. Will definitely be back."

The Merchant's Yard
9.6 (23 reviews)

The Merchant's Yard ★★★

📍 The Merchant's Yard St John's Road, Buxton

"We found The Merchant's Yard when looking for a hotel with EV charging in the Peak district. The provision here is exceptional with named parking spaces for hotel residents each of which has an EV point. We arrived disheveled and stressed out after a walk earlier in the afternoon had gone disastrously wrong when we took a misleading turning. Staff were friendly, calming and gave us a warm welcome. A complimentary drink on arrival was a great touch. Our room was large and stylish. Superb attention to detail, for example a night light comes on in the bathroom when you enter in the dark so no need to turn the main light on. Fresh milk in the fridge for teas and coffees. The interior designer of both the rooms and restaurant has made a fantastic job of incorporating old artefacts and posters from its days as a builders merchants. Tideswell is a pretty village and close to lots of places of interest. We would stay here again. "

The Queen's Head Hotel
8.7 (80 reviews)

The Queen's Head Hotel ★★★

📍 High St, Buxton

"Stayed at the Queen's Head hotel over the weekend due to attending a concert at Buxton Opera House. We were really well looked after and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean , warm and welcoming. Whilst there is no on-site parking, there is parking in the market place only a minutes walk away which was easy to access. Thank you for an enjoyable stay."

Rooms at The Vault
8.7 (25 reviews)

Rooms at The Vault ★★★

📍 2-4 High St, Buxton

"I must commend this small but amazing hotel, especially its bathroom shower system. It was the most satisfying shower facility I encountered during my month-long trip to France and the UK, bar none! The restaurant downstairs was also delicious and convenient, and hotel guests enjoyed a 10% discount. I highly recommend this exquisite little hotel."

Palace Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"Excellent location. once very grand but now maintained to an "adequate" standard. Cheap and cheerful breakfast. Room was fine but you could see all the bodges to keep things working. Would stay again especially out of season when prices are a bit more realistic."

A communal dining area and kitchen with everything provided was available to use. Hot chocolates were made and a lovely breakfast was provided. Rooms were clean and tidy and just perfect for us. Old Hall Hotel ★★★
"The room is large, the bed is large, the old house, the elevator can enter three families, stick together, the bedding is cotton, but not high cotton, but it does not cause too thin and soft. The room number logo is chaotic, there are more than 30 rooms in total, and the first floor is actually looking for a long time. The faucet is separated from hot and cold water, there are cracks and watermarks on the wall, and there is rain leakage in the corridor. The atmosphere of the hotel is very good, breakfast is OK."

Rooms at The Vault ★★★
"The room (No.3) is excellent in its appointment. This has been tastefully modernised. Five stars for the room and its furniture. However… I was warned that weekends can be ‘noisy’ That is putting it mildly. I stayed for Friday night and Saturday night. The room faces onto the busy main road. Bars aroubd pulsed loud music into the wee small hours. It cannot be described as ‘restful’. In fairness I was warned by the owner. Perhaps Sunday night and mid-week nights are better. I would have given 5 stars throughout but have marked down location and amenities to reflect the noise."
