Might not get to park on site because of people pulling campers and trailers are allowed to park in front and take up 4 and 10 spots each in the small parking lot. Told to park in a vacant dirt lot across the street and check in clerk not very friendly. If you stay here, don't explore Amarillo and have fun. Get back early and so you can maybe park in the parking lot.

The hotel and service was everything you would expect from a Marriott property. Staff was super friendly and attentive to any needs. Hotel is modern, clean, and up to date for a location that was built in 1927. Surprising good night life and several restaurants that are within walking distance of the hotel. Several right across the street. A very quiet pleasant stay. Didn't hear people coming or going from their rooms at all hours of the nights. I had a room that was next to the elevator and never heard it once and this was on a busy weekend. The only downfall with the property was a lack of pool/spa. So this may or may not be a deal breaker if you are trying to entertain kids.

Very nice and clean place to stay. The beds are soft and the hotel is extremely quiet at night. The cook Issac cooks the food when you arrive so that you getting a fresh hot meal instead of food that has just been sitting. Issac takes pride in preparing you breakfast and its good! My husband loved his freash biscuits. Chris needs to give this guy a raise 🙂. Definitely 5 star staff!

The room is big enough and the basic facilities are new enough, but there is a thin layer of scale on all kinds of glass, which may be related to the water quality. During the covid period, the hotel’s breakfast is to send out a packing box and go for breakfast like a canteen. There are various types of doughnuts, cakes and fruits for cold food, and oatmeal scrambled eggs, sausages and fries for hot food. There are almost no free parking spaces in the hotel. There is a garage across the street for 7 yuan a day. There are many (more than ten) street parking spaces at the door. It is free all day on weekends and evenings on weekdays.

Convenient location. Room was clean and comfortable with great soundproofing. I had gotten sick the first night and the desk clerk called an ambulance to take me to the hospital for treatment of severe heartburn and elevated blood pressure, then was returned to the hotel a few hours later to continue my stay. Also liked the excellent wi-fi service and free breakfast. Rate was a fair price. Will definitely return!!

Definitely pick somewhere else to stay. This hotel actually CHARGES you to park there. I have never heard of hotels doing this unless you are downtown in a major city or parking in a parking garage. Not only that, the rooms are super outdated. Plus, our TV doesn’t work, and they only gave us one coffee pod for our Keurig. Oh and there is no free breakfast. Plus side is that the staff is nice and there is a bar. But all the little things you get charged for and/or don’t have will cause me to never stay here again.

As soon as we entered we should have turned around, but we had pre-paid and were on a schedule. The lobby was messy and the front door broken. Trash present in the beds out front. Front desk was not friendly and gave no directions to room, albeit maybe she had a bad day. We got a room on 5th floor facing I-40, super noisy have earplugs. No coffee maker in the room and we couldn’t get TV to turn on, but didn’t bother reporting it as we had phones. Furniture was in disrepair, walls peeling, chair torn, paint on the TV, and carpet you don’t want to walk barefoot on. I swear the stain on the floor looked like somebody was murdered or committed suicide in the room. We were only there to get some sleep for 8 hours so we did the best we could, but nobody wanted to shower in the morning so we skipped them. The breakfast was a joke, cereal, bananas and juice. Go to IHOP next door.

I was at the 1Hotel July just days after the 4th. After reading reviews , my decision was it was a 50-50 chance of having either a great or terrible experience . It sounded interesting at the very least to see this historic hotel and the price was great. It did not disappoint . I looked for the dreaded bugs or any kind of shabbiness . Yes the room upstairs near a large cherub statue had carpet that smelled a little musty at first but it was a very large and comfortable room with ornate surroundings . The pool had water but I never saw anyone in it during my short overnight stay . The staff was very friendly and pleasant at all times. Negatives can only be found by whining about the fact that I thought it was on walkable streets as I had imagined . Yes the parking lot had a few questionable people in it at night . What public parking lot in a large city doesn’t ? The strangest thing to me was seeing the dining area tables and floors were cleaned by 9 am and I saw no traces of people or food or coffee . Final analysis - seems a little other worldly and is extremely nice despite price and some bad reviews .

WOW, I'm a Travel Advisor with many years of experience staying in hotels. This hotel left me super impressed. Perfect location, decoration very modern open concept. Staff in all areas very professional, courteous and friendly. The bedrooms very clean, loved the walk-in shower, bed and bathroom linen perfect. The breakfast has plenty of hot and cold choices. Ted, was always making sure there was plenty of food available. He is very attentive of anything you need. Even brought my coffee to my table after he brew a new pot. Kept the eating area clean and organized. highly recommend this hotel. The front clerk Cynthia and Ted in the breakfast area exceeded my expectations. Will be back next week.

Amarillo as a city is not very nice. It’s about the only stop of significance along the I40. It is nothing more then endless hotels, restaurants, shops and gas stations. We have stayed in the Comfort Inn and Suites twice while making the drive to California. This hotel is a very good place to stay. Large rooms. Clean. Well run. Great breakfast choices. It was a pleasure to stay there. Not sure we would be back that way, but if so, we would definitely stay there. Good job property owner, manager and staff.

The hotel is very big and there are quite a lot of people staying during our Thanksgiving holiday. The room is big enough and the basic facilities are new enough, but there is a thin layer of scale on all kinds of glass, which may be related to the water quality. During the covid period, the hotel’s breakfast is to send out a packing box and go for breakfast like a canteen. There are various types of doughnuts, cakes and fruits for cold food, and oatmeal scrambled eggs, sausages and fries for hot food. There are almost no free parking spaces in the hotel. There is a garage across the street for 7 yuan a day. There are many (more than ten) street parking spaces at the door. It is free all day on weekends and evenings on weekdays.

The hotel and service was everything you would expect from a Marriott property. Staff was super friendly and attentive to any needs. Hotel is modern, clean, and up to date for a location that was built in 1927. Surprising good night life and several restaurants that are within walking distance of the hotel. Several right across the street. A very quiet pleasant stay. Didn't hear people coming or going from their rooms at all hours of the nights. I had a room that was next to the elevator and never heard it once and this was on a busy weekend. The only downfall with the property was a lack of pool/spa. So this may or may not be a deal breaker if you are trying to entertain kids.

The owner was very nice as well as the staff. We stayed there for a night with our dogs and cat and the owner went out of his way to accommodate our pets. I really did appreciate that as it is very hard to find rooms that will take in multiple pets. I would stay there again and highly recommend people to stay there. A very pleasant stay.
