Introducing "Give Us A Look," an exciting event taking place in Leeds, where artists can explore and discuss their own art in a supportive and creative environment. Often, the process of finding the right words to describe our own artistic practice can be challenging, especially if we don't have a network of like-minded individuals to provide feedback. At "Give Us A Look," artists will have the opportunity to present their finished or unfinished artwork, share their ideas, or discuss any obstacles they may be facing. This event aims to help artists develop a better understanding of their own work and gain insight into how others respond to it. By participating in this pilot event, artists will contribute to our research on the need for such gatherings and help us shape future, sustainable initiatives. "Give Us A Look" is part of the "Let Us See You" project, a 12-month program offering curated support and development opportunities, as well as exhibition possibilities for artists based in Leeds. This project aims to demystify the application and selection process for art shows by prioritizing the artists' needs and providing comprehensive support throughout. With funding from Leeds Inspired, a division of Leeds City Council, "Give Us A Look" promises to be an inclusive and engaging event that supports artists and communities facing barriers to participation.
