What is this social about? Sikh Mental Health & Wellbeing is helping to raise awareness in the Sikh and diverse South Asian communities. We help promote, improve, and transform their mental health & wellbeing. It is a topic that is often ignored or dismissed as not real in the South Asian cultures, leading to unnecessary suffering and hurt. We are working hard to raise awareness and open a dialogue on these subjects. This is an open space for those who identify as Panjabi men to engage in a discussion with others around a particular topic, to listen, learn, and share. We welcome Punjabis from all faith backgrounds – Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, Christian, other faiths, spiritualities, and those who practice no faith or are agonistic. Can I attend eventhough I have not had mental health difficulties? YES! The socials are about connecting with like minded people to improve our wellbeing. There is no expectation you speak about your wellbeing, instead come and meet the team and community whilst having fun! Why Panjabi Men? We recognise the unmet need in our community to support our wellbeing, and where statutory services may miss, our community can help! The socials are specific to Panjabi Men, as our facilitators are Panjabi and can best offer their lived experience and skills based of this. Where will the socials be held? Friday 27th September Meet at Sheepscar Bar & Grill , Saville Drive, LS7 3EJ 18:30 - 20:00pm 17+ Keep an eye on our social media and Eventbrite for an alternative activity each month.
