During this 1 day course you will get a taste of both blacksmithing and coppersmithing! Learn how to dish flat copper into a 3-dimensional scoop, and shape steel to make a handle of your own design. Some of the skills you will learn are:
How to heat copper and use a torch 
How copper behaves under the hammer
How steel moves under the hammer
How to heat up steel using a coke fuelled forge
How to manage a forge fire
Which hammers, stakes and dies to use to form a small dish
Specialty tools at the forge to achieve the shapes in your design
How to work at an anvil
How to connect steel to copper
This is one day course. Class runs from 9am-5pm.
All materials, safety equipment, coffee and tea will be provided. Lunch is available in town / an indoor lunch area with a microwave and fridge is provided on site if you bring your own food. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
