Save, store, grow—learn the art of seed saving. Seed Saving Learn the art and science of seed saving at Doon Heritage Village. Under the guidance of Bob Wildfong, the museum’s Heritage Gardener – an accomplished seed producer and one of Canada’s experts on heritage seeds. Participants will learn how to collect seeds from garden plants, and clean and store them for planting the following spring. Methods for controlling pollination and proper seed harvesting will be demonstrated. Participants will be invited to gather seeds from the museum’s heritage gardens. Registration required. Presenter : Bob Wildfong Pricing : $25.00 per person plus HST and Eventbrite fee. Please note that this workshop takes place inside the Main Museum and the gardens of our historical Martin House. Join us in the historic Martin house for a tasting of ten freshly brewed herbal teas. Learn their historic and modern uses and how to clean, prepare and store them for lasting vitality. In this hands-on workshop, you will start your own potted herb plants from freshly collected seed to take home for your garden or window sill. Registration required.
