Let’s cool off from the burnout by diving into a strategy to implement effective delegation, where you will be able to manage your workload more efficiently, foster a supportive and productive team environment, and maintain your well-being. Successful delegation requires planning, careful introduction and training, commitment of all team members, and effective follow-up. Effective delegation always involves adequate communication, and we know that people accept responsibility and act when they know what you expect. We’re going to talk about the behaviors and habits that impact your ability to effectively delegate. Just as importantly, we will touch on the attitudes we all bring to the table that help or hinder us in being effective delegators. We all know that delegation can be an effective way to create and promote a better-balanced team, but it also helps to; reduce overload, focus on priorities, improve decision making, reduce procrastination and enhance communication. Wouldn’t it be great to leverage your team’s strengths, develop their skills, build trust, and thereby, give you more time for strategic planning? Along with this open discussion will be the presentation and practice of several basic exercises that help determine what should be delegated and how to develop a plan of action – focused on what can be done immediately!
