Non League Networking Lunch @ AFC Wulfrunians | WV3 8LU

May 27, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Wolverhampton
Cultural Experiences
Non League Networking hosts business networking events at local non league and grass roots football clubs around the UK. The aim is to bring together business owners and professionals to grow their network and build connections. Networking is a proven way of doing this. What makes us different is our mantra of "Support for all". We believe in supporting not just the growth of local businesses, but the football clubs too. Most of the money you pay to attend the events goes back into the football clubs and helps them financially. These clubs rely on events and sponsorships from local businesses to keep them going. So with our networking events you are helping the local communities! Our events are all very relaxed. We are not a membership organisation and we do not have any "rules" or single seat policy. All events are "pay as you go" so we are consistently welcoming new faces every month. Everyone is welcome from sole traders to large global businesses. The main thing we ask is that you are friendly and open to getting to build new relationships. We're confident that once you have tried Non League Networking you will be back for more! YSC Holiday workshops: Bacterial Evolution (ages 15–18) | The Royal Institution

May 27, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
City of Wolverhampton District
Family Events
This workshop looks closely at the evolutionary arms race between bacteria and the host immune system and how different strains of bacterial species evolve over time. In this workshop, students investigate four fictional bacterial outbreaks by performing restriction enzyme digests on DNA samples isolated from each of the scenes. Using gel electrophoresis, they will then compare the banding patterns to reference samples of known strains. Students will then decide what advice to give their colleagues at the scene of the outbreaks or whether the samples need further investigation. This workshop is strictly for 15–18 year-olds and will include a 30 minute lunch break, during which students will be allowed to leave the Ri building. Students should bring lunch and a drink. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in this age range. Please note that closed toe shoes must be worn as this workshop takes place in our lab. Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
