Through literature, creative writing, storytelling, and other arts and cultural activities, the program aims to enhance nature connection in a safe and creative space. Writing Our Legacy CIC, established in 2012, is an arts and heritage organization that supports Black, Asian, and ethnically diverse/BPOC* individuals in sharing their stories through writing and the creative arts. The organization provides a platform and community for writers and creatives to develop their work, with the goal of showcasing the stories and heritage of diaspora communities. *BPOC stands for 'Black people, People of Colour' and is a self-identifying term. Writing Our Legacy CIC seeks to address and overcome systemic barriers faced by its members based on their ethnic or national identities, race, or perceived racial identities, in accordance with the Equality Act of 2010.
