Holiday session involving outdoor activities, games, free play in the woods and crafts for 6-11 yr olds.
A healthy vegetarian lunch and snacks will be provided, that we will prepare together as part of the day. This will be a jacket potato with a choice of cheese, baked beans and salad. If you think your child will not like this please let us know in advance.
Activities will take place outside where possible so please ensure suitable clothing and footwear. It is advisable that children come in long trousers.

Join our magical fairy tale themed activities for all the family at The Hive. From castles and dungeons to potions, wands, crowns, swords and dragons, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in our enchanted woodland!!
Tickets are £9 per child. Accompanying adults and children over 12 enter free, but please still book a ticket then we can keep track of numbers. Any children over 12 who wish to take part in activities must have a child's ticket purchased.
Fancy dress is welcome, but this is an outdoor activity so please come dressed for the weather including waterproofs and sturdy footwear.

Join us at Lyndon Visitor Centre for one of our family-focused bird-watching activity sessions.
We will be practicing on our listening, observation and identification skills to explore the skills needed when out looking for birds. This family-focused event is an engaging and immersive way to introduce children and young people to bird watching. This event is primarily aimed at families with children between the ages of 5-12, but everyone is welcome to attend.
The event will be led by one of our Visitor Centre educators and will take place between the Visitor Centre and a selection of our bird hides, providing opportunities to watch for birds in a relaxed and encouraging environment. We will also be using birdseed during this event (non-nut based birdseed).

Join us for a morning of fun in a beautiful secluded area of woodland where you can enjoy a range of Forest School style activities for children aged 2 to 4 years old and their adult.
Please dress for the weather, and note we recommend long sleeved tops, trousers and closed toe shoes for children and adults.
We may get a bit messy so don't wear your best clothes.
Our hands will get dirty so we will wash our hands at the Ecology Centre before the end of the session.
Activities will go ahead in any weather except high wind and electric storm.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Meeting point: Ecology Centre 10am
Please bring a snack for your child if needed, and a refillable water bottle.

Fille d’un père turc et d’une mère française, Euphrate est une lycéenne en classe de terminale qui rencontre des difficultés avec le système scolaire. Outre ses résultats assez médiocres, elle doit prochainement exprimer son choix d’orientation professionnelle : un vrai casse-tête. Elle en vient alors à se demander quelle incidence sa double culture a pu avoir sur la construction de son identité. Dans un dialogue savoureux et plein d’humour avec son père, elle part à la rencontre de ses racines turques et de ses souvenirs d’enfance. Entremêlant la danse et les mots, le spectacle raconte avec la liberté d’un corps joyeux le chemin vers l’affirmation de sa propre parole de femme.

Après avoir obtenu un Master 2 en psychologie clinique, Nil Bosca se tourne vers le théâtre et entre au Conservatoire d’art dramatique du 12ème arrondissement de Paris, puis à l’École du Jeu. En parallèle, elle se forme de façon autodidacte à la danse, puis travaille avec Jann Gallois et Chrystel Calvet en danse contemporaine ainsi qu’avec plusieurs danseurs de hip-hop au 104. Depuis sa sortie d’école en 2018, elle joue au théâtre dans les projets de Mani Soleymanlou («Trois» au Théâtre National de Chaillot, au TGP et au Tarmac), Delphine Eliet («Enjeux Pro», MC93), Stanislas Roquette («Le voyage égoïste de Colette», Festival d’Avignon), Monique Stalens («Amour et/ou Mariage», d’après Kierkegaard) et la cie du Pavillon 33 («Richard 2» de Shakespeare, Anis Gras). Comme danseuse, elle joue dans le spectacle «Humanoïdes» de Jann Gallois, et tourne dans les films/clips de Laura Combeau («Solere»), Charles Habib-Drouot («Touché par la foi» / A.Viot), Giacomo Abbruzzese («Disco Boy») et Armel Hostiou («Khellitni najri maurak» / M.Lamouri). Après avoir assisté Joël Pommerat sur un stage de création du spectacle «Ça ira (1) Fin de Louis» en 2014, elle travaille sur «Les Mômes porteurs» de Mounia Raoui et Jean-Yves Ruf en tant que regard artistique et chorégraphique. Par ailleurs, elle écrit et interprète seule «Euphrate», un spectacle autour de ses origines turques, mis en scène avec la complicité de Stanislas Roquette et d’Olivier Constant. Euphrate est actuellement en tournée en France et à l’International.

Collaboration à la mise en scène
Stanislas Roquette est comédien, metteur en scène, auteur, et formateur pour la prise de parole en public, notamment à Sciences-Po Paris. Nominé pour la révélation théâtrale au Prix du Syndicat de la Critique 2012, il a notamment joué sous la direction de Roland Auzet, Marcel Bozonnet, Jérôme Deschamps, Gabriel Garran, Gérald Garutti, Denis Guénoun, Jacques Lassalle, Pauline Masson, Léonard Matton, Céline Schaeffer et Christian Schiaretti. Il compte à son actif plusieurs mises en scène, notamment Les Règles du savoir-vivre dans la société moderne de Jean-Luc Lagarce, spectacle créé en Russie et en russe. Le premier texte qu’il a écrit, Insuline & Magnolia, est publié chez Actes-Sud. Enseignant régulièrement dans l’école professionnelle de théâtre EDT 91, il est par ailleurs artiste compagnon de la Maison de la Culture d’Amiens, et artiste associé à la Maison des Arts du Léman.

Lichens are probably the most fascinating yet overlooked life-forms in the natural world. In this half-day workshop, Anthony Speca will bring the compelling world of lichens out of the background. We’ll begin with an enjoyable and stimulating introduction to lichens, and then we’ll head out into Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve to observe lichens ‘in the wild’!
This workshop will include an informative introductory talk followed by interactive fieldwork. Hand lenses will be provided allowing participants to explore lichens up close in their natural setting.
This workshop is 3 hours long and will include a drinks break where tea or filter coffee will be provided. Please bring clothing suitable for a walk around the reserve.

Willow Swifts and Swallows Workshop (ECC2806) | Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve & Visitor Centre

Under the tuition of 2 experienced basket makers, you will learn some basic skills and techniques of willow weaving whilst creating beautiful swifts and swallows for to take home. We’ll be incorporating freshly harvested willow grown locally by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, so no previous experience is necessary. However, some manual dexterity will be required and people with limited strength in their hands may find this weave tricky. All materials and tools will be provided.
Tea and coffee will be provided during a short break in the workshop.
