Limo Wreck - Tribute to Chris Cornell / Soundgarden - Nanaimo June 14 | The Queen's

Jun 14, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Nanaimo A
Rock
Concerts
When five of the most easygoing, seasoned musicians in BC came together, they had one simple goal: to celebrate the music of one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Enter Limo Wreck (formerly known as Loud Love) — a powerhouse tribute to Soundgarden and the unmistakable legacy of Chris Cornell. From the thunderous grooves to the mind-bending guitar work, from the intricate time signatures to the soaring, soul-stirring vocals, Limo Wreck doesn’t just play Soundgarden’s music—they embody it. This isn’t just a tribute; it’s a reverent and electrifying experience, delivering the raw intensity, haunting melodies, and undeniable power that made Soundgarden a defining force in rock history. The lineup is stacked with talent: Steve Plantz (Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar) – With an uncanny ability to channel Chris Cornell’s raw emotion and staggering vocal range, Steve commands the stage with every note. Murray Atkinson (Guitar) – A current member of The Odds and virtuoso guitarist whose searing solos and sonic textures capture Kim Thayil’s magic note for note. Devon Hart (Guitar) – A dynamic player who brings the grit and depth that defined Soundgarden’s iconic dual-guitar attack. Grant Baird (Drums) – The rhythmic powerhouse who drives the band with precision, passion, and the perfect dose of chaos. Ryan Steele (Bass) – Laying down the deep, brooding grooves that anchor the band’s massive sound. With their combined experience spanning decades, Limo Wreck is more than just a group of musicians—it’s a brotherhood built on a shared love for one of rock’s most legendary bands. Whether delivering the dark, hypnotic energy of Fell on Black Days, the relentless force of Rusty Cage, or the soaring intensity of Black Hole Sun, they bring every note to life with authenticity and heart. For fans of Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, and Chris Cornell’s solo work, Limo Wreck is the ultimate tribute—an unapologetic, high-voltage homage to one of the most influential voices in rock history. Nanaimo A
Concerts
Victoria, BC's Cosmic Foam play post-psychedelic free rock jams with jazz-rock psych, noise and experimental influences. With Mihkel Kaup - guitar, Don Chessa - bass, Nevada Brown - drums and Shane Krause - saxophones. Members of The Roses, Golden Hand, Evil!, Small Pleasures and Allotropes. https://cosmicfoam.bandcamp.com MESTIZX is Bolivian-born singer and multi-medium performer Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and renowned Chicago expat jazz drummer Frank Rosaly's debut album as co-composers, arrangers and musicians. The music creatively infuses Latin rhythmic patterns and oblong swing from pre-and post-colonial Latin America into a collision of avant jazz, art punk, Chicago post-rock, bomba, plena, cumbia, Andean, minimal, electronica, and folk. A wholly original but undeniably universal sound – both of-the-moment and alluringly futuristic - MESTIZX contains points of reference and resonance for fans of Juana Molina, Café Tacvba, Max Roach & Abbey Lincoln, Liquid Liquid, Arto Lindsay, As Mercenarias, The Ex, Tortoise, Tom Zé, Elza Soares, La Mecanica Popular... It’s a vast, vibrant and encompassing spectrum of sounds, but at its core MESTIZX is a lucidly conscious collection of auto-biographical statements from Ferragutti & Rosaly on the deeply personalized effects of colonialism on geography, history, and identity. Despite its heavy subject matter, however, MESTIZX finds a lifeline in communal, celebratory, soul-bearing and movement-inducing music. With Ben Boye on keys, autoharp, and octatrack , James McClure on trumpet and synth , and bassist Nate McBride. https://intlanthem.bandcamp.com/album/mestizx Information Source: The Orange Light | eventbrite
