The Main Street 16 Challenge combines everything we love about the Disney Parks: thrilling rides, intricate details, and—most importantly—the incredible people who share our passion. It's part social gathering, part team trivia, and part ride challenge, creating an unforgettable experience that highlights the spirit of Disney magic while supporting an extraordinary mission. The Mental Health Association of Central Florida (MHACF.org) is pleased to host their 14th annual Legacy of Champions Luncheon Wednesday May 21st. The event will take place from 11:30am – 1:30p.m. at the Rosen Centre Hotel and will be hosted by noted Orlando Sentinel columnist Scott Maxwell. Registration opens at 10:45am with a VIP Reception following from 1:30pm – 2:30pm. Since 2011, the Legacy of Champions Luncheon has served as the primary method by which the MHACF raises essential funds to support critical programs like our Outlook Clinic. Exclusively providing mental and behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, and adults that are uninsured, and face access obstacles to seeking mental health services and care, last year the Outlook clinic provided over 4,000 patients visits. As seen in prior years, this event brings together community leaders and highlights inspirational and meaningful stories about the state of mental health in our community while recognizing exceptional community members with the prestigious Candice Crawford Community Champion Award and Community Heroes Award. This year’s goal is to raise $250,000 so that the MHACF can continue to meet the escalating needs of our neighbors in crisis. Neurographic Art-Inspired Watercolor Friday, May 2, 2025 1:00-3:30pm Instructor: Ann Marie Palmer May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Take an afternoon to disconnect with watercolor. We will briefly discuss artistic techniques that encourage mindfulness. Neurographic style art helps encourage mindfulness through doodling and free-line drawing. We will then incorporate watercolors to complete a beautiful painting, ready for framing. You will complete the class with enough knowledge to continue your own neurographic art practice at home! All supplies are included in your session fee. Ann Marie will walk you through step-by-step instructions for painting your own watercolor creation. No previous watercolor painting experience required. Because watercolor actually moves on the paper, it is the most active of all mediums, almost a performance art. — Nita Engle Ann Marie Palmer has been studying the world of watercolor since 2019, through local classes and private instruction. Her passion for painting botanicals and florals keeps her exploring Leu Gardens and other hidden gems in Orlando. Ann Marie worked and taught in higher education from 2007 through 2021 and is a member of the Central Florida Watercolor Society .
