We think the best relationships are forged when we are comfortable, relaxed and free of pressure. Preferring instead to think of the evening as a casual night out where one can truly be themselves. We do not use traditional 'speed dating' offerings such as bells, whistles and name-tags. Instead we focus on creating an atmosphere conducive to meeting others; a great venue, a personable host and a staff to assist.
Upon registration, you'll be sent an email inviting you to login to your mobile ‘Smart-Card’. As the event begins, log-in to your scorecard and let the flirting begin. You'll be able to choose whom you wish to meet again, to what degree you like them and have until midnight to submit your final selections for matching. Once the clock strikes midnight - return to our platform to see your matches. You can also access your profile via mobile, tablet or PC. Our platform isn't an app so it requires absolutely no downloading and can be accessed directly from our website, anytime.
Should you have any questions - feel free to ask away. Take the time before the event starts to settle in - have a beverage if you would like and mingle should you wish. Chat up our Hosts for tips or simply to ask, which direction the bar is in! After being shown to your table, the ladies will remain seated for the duration of the event. The gents move from lovely lady to lovely lady every six to seven minutes. Your mobile scorecard gives you the ability to see all the participants attending your event, upload your picture, make your selections and be notified of your matches all from your phone.
Don't fret about figuring out if the person is the one or the perfect person for you. Consider it the date before the date. If you choose someone and they chose you - it's a match. You will be given each others first name and email address. The rest is up to you.
- ----
For those that prefer the same simplified experience in Matchmaking, we offer our 'Date-Nights' free of contracts and commitments. With packages ranging from $818 CAD - $1299 CAD. For more information;

The Head Vanishes
Director: Franck Dion | Montreal | 2016 | Animation | 10 min
Jacqueline isn’t quite in her right mind anymore, but she’s determined to take the train to the seaside, as she does every summer. Only this year, she’s constantly being followed by some woman who claims to be her daughter, and the trip takes some unexpected, phantasmagorical turns. Franck Dion’s gentle, poetic film invites us to share the journey of an elderly woman living with degenerative dementia, as her confused mind leaves her open to danger.
Born in Versailles in 1970,
Franck Dion
has worked as an actor, theatre set designer, and illustrator. In 2003, he made his first animated short film,
L’inventaire fantôme,
which won an award at the Annecy International Animation Festival.
The
Head Vanishes
is his fourth animated short. It received the Crystal Award for Best Short Film at the 2016 Annecy International Animated Film Festival, the Jury Prize at the Palm Springs Film Festival, and the Grand Prize for Best Short Film at the Miami Film Festival among many others.
Me and My Teeth
Director: Anna Quon | Halifax | 2023 | Documentary | 15 min
As a child, filmmaker Anna Quon thought of herself as special, because unlike other kids, she had nearly perfect teeth. But by teenage-hood this illusion began to unravel, and after university, depression landed Anna in the psychiatric hospital. Over time and several hospital admissions, she saw the disappearance of the services and programs that made it, potentially, a place of healing. Part personal essay, part poetic plea,
Me and My Teeth
asks us to consider what allows us to keep smiling when so many others cannot.
Anna Quon
is a MAD, middle-aged, mixed race woman with middle class padding who has a complex relationship with her own mental— and dental— health. A poet and novelist who makes short animated films of her own poems, Anna is a curious artist, always looking to learn new skills to help her tell the stories and express the ideas that she thinks are important to creating a better world in which humanity can flourish.
I See Stars
Director: Caid Dow | Vancouver | 2018 | Experimental Documentary | 11 min
I See Stars
is a short experimental mixed medium documentary. A mental health journey that started with a brain injury begins a young woman's lifelong battle with mental illness and struggles with psychiatric medication. A moving personal narrative of a young filmmaker's continuing struggle with the lingering effects of a concussion suffered at the age of 14, delivered in a poetic mixed-media animation.
Caid Dow
is a filmmaker, photographer and visual artist. Born in Halifax, raised in Calgary, currently in Vancouver with a BFA in Film Production from UBC. As a writer, director and animator she has recieved awards for both her documentary and fiction shorts, including the H. Norman Lidster Prize in Documentary Filmmaking for
I See Stars
. She focuses on films that tell honest stories exploring topics such as identity, gender and mental health, and her works have been shown in festivals across Canada.
The Yellow Wallpaper
Director: Anne Koizumi | Toronto | 2015 | Animation | 6 min
Dive into the chilling world of Charlotte Perkins Gilman's iconic short story, "The Yellow Wallpaper," with this captivating animated adaptation. This timeless tale of a woman's descent into madness, driven by the oppressive forces of 19th-century patriarchy, is brought to life through animation and haunting narration.
Anne Koizumi
is an independent filmmaker and media arts educator. She completed her undergraduate studies in Film Production at the University of British Columbia and her MFA in Film Production at York University. Her films have screened nationally and internationally at Hot Docs, the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF), Annecy, SFFILM, Slamdance and the London International Animation Festival, among others. Her most recent film,
In the Shadow of the Pines
, won best short animation at SFFILM, best narrative short and best Canadian short at OIAF 2020.
Loca
Vernique Paquette | Montreal | 2024 | Animation | 5 min
Through the energy of tango, a woman finds a path to freedom. A mesmerizing visual performance created with waves of ink and black-and-white geometric shapes. With a mastery of both dance and animation, Véronique Paquette channels the essence of tango through evocative imagery of bodies that are equally furtive and powerful.
Véronique Paquette
gained her experience in traditional animation through fiction films, documentaries and advertising, while turning her passion for dance into a powerful creative engine. Different by Design: Discover Your Human Design Type & Strategy | 1025 Dunsmuir St
Jul 24, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Vancouver
Human Design is a spiritual framework that blends astrology, the I’Ching, Kabbalah, and the chakra system. Using your birth details, it generates a map of how you're uniquely built to move through the world.
There are 4 Human Design Types, each with a distinct aura, signposts, and strategy for alignment. When we understand these differences, we stop taking things personally and start creating more compassionate, collaborative relationships.
In this beginner-friendly and practical workshop, you’ll learn about the auras, signposts and strategy of each Type: Generator, Projector, Manifestor, and Reflector. You’ll explore how each type shows up in the world, and how to better support the different types.
✨
We’ll be working directly with your chart
, so you can learn about your own Type while hearing real-life experiences from others.
It’s a unique opportunity to meet people who share your Type, and better understand the ones who don’t.
This is an interactive, inclusive space where we celebrate our differences and explore how to support each other with more empathy and awareness. You’ll leave with insight and tools you can apply right away in your daily life.
Whether you’re brand new to Human Design or looking to go deeper, we’d love to have you join us.
