Whether it be a romantic dinner, wine tasting, concert or festival - bar crawl or fitness class - maybe even a Mud Run! Do what you Relish with whom you Relish.
Saturday Night Speed Dating @ BC Kitchen - July 19th 2025
Ages: 25-39 | 6PM
39 Smithe St, Vancouver, BC V6B 0R3, Canada
For more information visit us at: DoRelish.com
Or email us at: info@dorelish.com
http://www.dorelish.com
We think the best relationships are forged when we are comfortable, relaxed and free of pressure. Preferring instead to think of the evening as a casual night out where one can truly be themselves. We do not use traditional 'speed dating' offerings such as bells, whistles and name-tags. Instead we focus on creating an atmosphere conducive to meeting others; a great venue, a personable host and a staff to assist.
Upon registration, you'll be sent an email inviting you to login to your mobile ‘Smart-Card’. As the event begins, log-in to your scorecard and let the flirting begin. You'll be able to choose whom you wish to meet again, to what degree you like them and have until midnight to submit your final selections for matching. Once the clock strikes midnight - return to our platform to see your matches. You can also access your profile via mobile, tablet or PC. Our platform isn't an app so it requires absolutely no downloading and can be accessed directly from our website, anytime.
Should you have any questions - feel free to ask away. Take the time before the event starts to settle in - have a beverage if you would like and mingle should you wish. Chat up our Hosts for tips or simply to ask, which direction the bar is in! After being shown to your table, the ladies will remain seated for the duration of the event. The gents move from lovely lady to lovely lady every six to seven minutes. Your mobile scorecard gives you the ability to see all the participants attending your event, upload your picture, make your selections and be notified of your matches all from your phone.
Don't fret about figuring out if the person is the one or the perfect person for you. Consider it the date before the date. If you choose someone and they chose you - it's a match. You will be given each others first name and email address. The rest is up to you.
- ----
For those that prefer the same simplified experience in Matchmaking, we offer our 'Date-Nights' free of contracts and commitments. With packages ranging from $818 CAD - $1299 CAD. For more information;

360 Riot Walk - July 19th | Vancouver Japanese Language School and Japanese Hall National Historic Site
Jul 19, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Vancouver
360 Riot Walk
is an interactive walking tour by artist Henry Tsang that utilizes 360° video technology to tell the story of the 1907 Anti-Asian Riots in Vancouver. It traces the history and route of the mob that attacked the Chinese Canadian and Japanese Canadian communities following the demonstration and parade organized by the Asiatic Exclusion League in Vancouver. Participants are brought into the social and political environment of the time where racialized communities were targeted through legislation as well as physical acts of exclusion and violence.
The soundtrack is available in the four languages of the local residents of the period: English, Cantonese, Japanese and Punjabi.
Sterilized tablets with the tour app will be provided along with headphones.
Allocate approximately 3 hours for the whole experience, including a 30-minute post-tour facilitated reflection with artist Henry Tsang.
Please keep in mind that the tablet equipment may feel heavy for some, so we kindly ask that participants are comfortable carrying both the tablet and headphones for the full duration of the tour.
A maximum of 10 participants are allowed per tour. We will not be able to accommodate any unregistered day-off attendees.
Please meet tour guide at Vancouver Japanese Language School-Japanese Hall (487 Alexander St, Vancouver, BC V6A 1C6) at 11:00 AM.
Refund Policy
If you would like to cancel your attendance, we will offer you a refund, provided that you inform us at least 7 days prior to the scheduled event. Not Your Heritage Tour- Whose Streets? Whose Stories? | Carrall Street & East Pender Street
Jul 19, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Vancouver
A walking tour through Strathcona & Chinatown exploring heritage as lived experience: connections, relationships, and everyday encounters, not just history.
This isn’t a history lesson. We’re not here to memorize plaques or glorify the past.
We’re here to explore how heritage lives now, to think together about the relationships people have with places, and why those relationships matter today. Heritage lives in murals, gardens, alleyways, artist spaces, nondescript shopfronts and buildings, and in the lives and stories of the people who are still here, who depend on these places.
As we move through the neighbourhood together, we’ll pause to ask real questions:
What is this different way of looking at heritage, and why does it matter to me?
Who decides what counts as history or heritage? Whose stories are told, and whose are erased?
What does it mean to belong somewhere?
Why is this important for the city and the people who live in it
This is about showing up with curiosity and care. It’s about recognizing that culture doesn’t just live in museums—it’s alive in the streets, in community, in resistance, and in everyday moments. It's about how neighbourhoods function like ecosystems, supporting ways of living and identity.
Come walk, listen, reflect, and share. Your presence matters. Your story matters. You’re part of this place, too.
We will meet at the southeast corner of Carrall and East Pender Street.
This walking tour is presented in partnership with
Heritage Vancouver Society.
