Welcome to the Ordinary Elephant show! Join us on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Northfield Mandolin Workshop. Get ready for a night filled with beautiful music and soulful performances by the talented duo, Ordinary Elephant. Don't miss out on this opportunity to experience their heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies in person. See you there! ORDINARY ELEPHANT Mesmerizing folk duo Ordinary Elephant has spent the better part of the last decade on a never-ending tour that’s earned married couple Crystal and Pete Damore widespread critical acclaim and made fans of luminaries like Tom Paxton and Mary Gauthier. In 2017, the pair took home the International Folk Music Award for Artist of the Year on the strength of their breakout album, Before I Go, and two years later, they returned with the similarly lauded Honest, which the Associated Press hailed as “one of the best Americana albums of the year.” The band’s new stripped-down, self-titled collection is the purest distillation of their sound yet, showcasing the arresting power of the couple’s gorgeous harmonies and intricate fretwork. The songs are timeless, rooted in rich, character-driven storytelling, and the performances are similarly transportive, fueled by delicately intertwined banjo, guitar, and octave mandolin. Though the songs were born out of a period of deep uncertainty, the record itself is a work of profound self-assurance, one delivered by a duo whose personal and professional lives embody the limitless possibility of honest, organic collaboration. Press play on Ordinary Elephant and you’ll hear more than just a husband and wife; you’ll hear the sound of sincerity and commitment, of patience and gratitude, of learning to let go of expectation and revel in the simple beauty of the moment. https://www.ordinaryelephant.net/

Author Talk with Susie Dumond | Underbrush Books
Jul 10, 2025 (UTC-6)ENDED

Join romance author Susie in-store on July 10 to celebrate the release of Susie's newest novel, Bed and Breakup! Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas with this latest novel set just up the road in Eureka Springs, we're excited to welcome this Arkansas author to our little indie bookstore. About Bed and Breakup:“A small-town second-chance romance that celebrates the joy of art, food, and chosen family with a scorching hot love story impossible not to root for.”—Amy Spalding, bestselling author ofFor Her Consideration
Two exes reunite to fix up and sell the bed-and-breakfast that destroyed their marriage—because some dreams, no matter how dusty or broken, deserve a second chance.
Their love story is a bit of a fixer-upper.
As newlyweds, Molly and Robin made the Hummingbird Inn into a trendy destination for queer travelers in the quirky mountain town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. But when their career ambitions drove them apart, the young couple separated, handed over the property’s upkeep to a management firm, and never looked back.
Seven years later, Molly and Robin return to the Hummingbird Inn for very different reasons. Molly is an artist on the rise who’s been commissioned to create pieces in Eureka Springs; Robin is a celebrity chef whose restaurants have gone belly-up. Both feel entitled to their shared property, furious that the other refuses to leave, and each resorts to a series of escalating pranks in the hopes of scaring the other off. When neither woman budges, they resolve to renovate the bed-and-breakfast together, sell it, and at last go their separate ways. But their work to restore the inn’s vintage charm reignites memories—and chemistry—that make it hard to say goodbye. About Susie Dumond:Susie Dumond is a queer writer originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. She is the author of Queerly Beloved, Looking for a Sign, and Bed and Breakup, and she also talks about books as a senior contributor at Book Riot and a bookseller at her local indie bookstore. Susie lives in Washington, D.C., with her spouse, Mickey, and her cat, Maple. When she's not writing or reading, you can find her baking cupcakes or belting karaoke at the nearest gay bar. By purchasing a book from Underbrush, you're supporting a local, independent bookstore and helping us bring more in-person events to Northwest Arkansas. Thank you for supporting Susie Dumond and our little bookstore!
