Stockard Channing's critically acclaimed production of Samuel Beckett's 'Krapp's Last Tape' comes to The Regency Town House this April. Bringing her unique directorial vision to this production, she explores the intricate layers of Beckett's masterpiece and Krapp's solitary world. Starring multi-award-winning actor David Westhead, a veteran of The Royal National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company, this 50-minute theatrical experience delves into the life of Krapp, a 69-year-old man reflecting on his past through annual tape recordings. The Birmingham Press described Westhead's performance as, “Intense and compelling”. John McAndrew of the Royal Shakespeare Company praised the production as, Just terrific...brilliant, outrageous, and heartbreaking . All proceeds will benefit the Wembley to Soweto Foundation, an international charity founded by David Westhead offering photographic training to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The foundation offers training and life skills to enable young people to move their lives forward and contribute to the society in which they live. Queer Art Club is a monthly gathering in Brunswick, VIC for the Queer Community. It serves as a space where individuals within the Queer Community can come together and share their experiences and stories. With a focus on Queer-related themes, the club provides an opportunity for reflection on lived experiences, celebrating joys and expressing grief. Unlike typical art-making spaces, Queer Art Club encourages participants to explore and experiment with various art-making prompts and materials without the pressure of conforming to a certain aesthetic. The club is facilitated by queer arts therapist and community facilitator, Don Fazliu, who introduces the session and provides support throughout. At the end of each session, there is a group dialogue where participants can share their artworks and insights. The supportive atmosphere is created by everyone in the group, fostering a sense of connection and camaraderie. The gallery also has two friendly dogs, Ace and Fury, who often join in for some pats and cuddles. Please note that this event is for individuals aged 18 and above.
