Motif presents the exciting event, "Motif Pics and Poets," where poets and 2D artists come together to create captivating pieces inspired by each other's work. The event will take place at the prestigious WaterFire Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. This unique collaboration aims to foster creativity by exchanging the submitted work of visual artists and poets as generative prompts. The process is simple: participating artists and poets submit two pieces each, and they are randomly matched. Once matched, they have two weeks to either create a poem inspired by the artwork or produce a piece of artwork inspired by the poem. All the exceptional work generated throughout this project will be beautifully displayed at the final exhibition on November 9, 2023, at the WaterFire Arts Center. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in delicious food from the Spanglish Empanadas Food Trailer and sip on specialty cocktails provided by the Sippin Pretty drink cart, available from 6pm to 7:30pm. Moreover, the captivating poems will be published in Motif and shared online, showcasing the immense talent of these artists. To further acknowledge their remarkable creations, cash awards will be presented to both audience and judge favorites. Up to nine winners will receive cash prizes ranging from $100 to $200, generously sponsored by the patrons of the arts at R1 Indoor Karting. Motif Pics and Poets is an event that celebrates the power of collaboration and the fusion of different art forms.
