Miguel H. Cuar - 'Where to next?' Opening night | Camden Open Air Gallery
Sep 20, 2024 (UTC+0)ENDED
Camden
Join us to celebrate the opening of Miguel H. Cuar's second solo exhibition ' Where to next?' Opening night: 20th September, 6.00pm - Late General Exhibition: 21st September - 20th October Where to next? The uncertainty that lingers when you've finally achieved your goals. The hesitation that surfaces once you've closed that chapter. The apprehension that creeps in when the last curtain falls at the theater or the uncertainty that emerges when your vacation wraps up and your mind starts wandering to future adventures. In a constantly changing world, the question Where to next? resonates more strongly than ever. We look towards the future, laden with uncertainties and opportunities, restless in the face of emerging technologies and social challenges. This is a crucial moment for the artist, where he needs to reevaluate his priorities and aspirations. The creation of all the pieces for this solo show has been an interesting exercise for the artist, as it has prompted reflection on the work completed to date while also encouraging thoughts about the future and the direction it may take. After his first solo show in London two years ago (June 2022), he has constantly found himself doubting the direction his studio practice should take and what specific steps he should pursue to continue following his dream and expanding career as a full-time artist. Where to next is an invitation to think about your future, where to find it an how to get there. Where you are now, was once your goal and now your starting point again. Pause for a second, take a breath and dive into this collection of works by Miguel H. Cuar and let them guide you and point towards where you should go next. About the artist Miguel H. Cuar (Zaragoza, Spain, 1987) is a contemporary artist that works across several mediums, with a primary focus on muralism and canvases. Seduced by the easy manipulation of acrylic paint and the skills developed through a background in graffiti, the artist's work explores themes of the future, motivation, nature, and mental health, among others. Frequently labeled as pop art due to the inclusion of recognizable elements and icons along with a bright color palette, the artist's practice is centered on channeling personal feelings and thoughts derived from everyday life experiences. The aim is to reach the audience with a specific message that has provided personal insight through the artwork. Each piece created carries a message that directly engages all viewers, as the artist believes that all individuals have the capacity to learn and evolve at every stage of their lives.

LUPII LUI CALANCEA | LONDRA | Povestea Dorului | 09.02.2025 | Electric Ballroom
Feb 9, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Camden
