Español: 💥El sábado 15de febrero 2025 de 10.00h a 13.00h, ANABELLA PIROSANTO, artista en residencia en FREEZONE durante este trimestre, compartirá un taller con la comunidad de danza de Barcelona! 📍Calle Santander 31, O8020 BARCELONA Sobre el taller : Este taller de movimiento propone expandir el cuerpo contemporáneo a través de diferentes técnicas del hip hop llevándolas a lo conceptual y asi desarrollar tu propio estilo. La clase se divide en dos partes: la primera se trata de preparar el cuerpo físicamente e absorber técnicas y conceptos de hip hop a traves de ejercicios y series de movimiento. En la segunda parte se trabajar con la improvisación de todo lo aprendido en la primera parte y como incorporarlo a su propia danza. Un poco más sobre Anabella Pirosanto : Anabella Pirosanto bailarina, coreografa, docente nacida en Argentina. Descubrió la danza en el 2001 a través del jazz y tap. Luego se introdujo en la danza contemporánea pero, necesitaba empujar mas sus limites físicos y descubrió el hip hop. Estas dos danzas las desarrollo durante mas de 17 años, trabajando en proyectos comerciales como giras con cantantes, programas de tv, haciendo battles internacionales como Bgirl, giras en compañías francesas renombradas como ; cie par Terre, cie Dyptik et Uzumaki. Actualemente con dos proyectos propios ,su solo ¨pas evident¨ y un duo con Jesus Guiraldi ,¨Makinal¨. En todos estos años de experiencia pudo percibir que gracias a la incorporación de diferentes técnicas y estilos su danza y su expresión se había enriquecido mucho y con esta versatilidad se sentía libre a la hora de poder expresar las emociones con el cuerpo, ya que no tenia limites. Este taller plantea conocer a fondo las técnicas del hip hop, breaking y contemporáneo, asi poder desarrollar sus propias danzas a través de la improvisación. . My work is inevitably marked by a biographical dimension; how can one create an echo in the lives of others through their own story? This is the challenge I have set for myself through collaborations, with the rigorous rule of ensuring the accessibility of proposals, between dance and theater. While putting detailed, brutal, and symbol-laden dance at the service of an engaged, feminist, political discourse, I seek above all to question the audience about the modern world. In 2018, she became the performer of Welcome home a solo created by Priska Gloanec. That same year, Katia co-directed with Chloé Dupeyrat the short film Ô which has won about fifteen awards at international festivals.Katia is fully committed to her role as a teacher; Present in amateur, school, and professional pathways, she is regularly invited to various places in France and Europe (Micadanses, INM, Jeune Ballet Désoblique, Kari Tanz-Haus (Germany), Centre de création chorégraphique du Luxembourg, CobosMika, Freezone, Varium, Area (Spain), etc.In Montpellier, the city where she has been living for a few years, Katia is working on developing various projects; In 2019, she created the training la Classe du Matin and the Collectif Les Essentiels , offering her services to emerging artists. Schedule of the 4th session (25th February – 8th April)Late Training with CLEMENTINE TELESFORTClémentine's class is based on a somatic exploration of physical expressivity. The practice will address movement efficiency and performativity, taking participants on a journey both inward and outward. Through a combination of exercises, explorations, and games, the class will flow between floor work, guided improvisations, moments of instant composition alone or in groups, and contact work. The class is based on principles such as: listening, gravity, connection, attention, and play. Within the study of attention, involvement, and efficiency, participants are encouraged to observe their movement and challenge their practice and patterns as performers beyond technical constraints. As the group moves through time and space, the focus is on establishing a safe and supportive environment for risk-taking and for finding and pushing ones own boundaries. The overall goal of the class is to allow each individual to discover new frontiers in their capabilities and progress in their learning while exploring and sharing their movement practice with others. Clémentine Telesfort trained at TrinityLaban in London, earning a degree in Contemporary Dance in 2015. She continued her training with the Verve Postgraduate Company at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, where she received the 'Outstanding Achievement Award' the following year. Clémentine has worked with choreographers and companies such as Guy Nader and Maria Campos, Lali Ayguadé, Anton Lachky, Jamaal Burkmar, Gecko Theatre, Theatre Rites, Roser Lopez Espinosa and Paula Serrano amongst others. Since 2019, she has been collaborating alongside Lisard Tranis, creating and producing performances under the company name Clémentine & Lisard, whilst developing their partnering practice and teaching their workshop The Attentive Act internationally both at festivals and renowned institutions for professional training.. 💥On Saturday 1st March 2025 from 10.00h to 13.00h, HADIYA MATTHEWS, artist in residency in FREEZONE during this trimester, will share a workshop with the dance community of Barcelona! 📍Calle Santander 31, O8020 BARCELONA About the workshop : Hadiya leads a contemporary workshop focused on unlocking new movement possibilities through intention, initiation, and spatial exploration. Participants will delve into improvisation exercises that engage often overlooked spaces, such as the backspace, and explore movement initiated from the skin, bones, and muscles. Through research into body rhythms and pulses, dancers will challenge their default movement patterns, observing and tackling seemingly impossible tasks to expand their creative boundaries. The workshop also includes across-the-floor work and a dynamic combination, weaving together themes discovered in the improvisation. A bit more about Hadiya Matthews : Hadiya Francine Matthews is originally from Houston, TX and recently graduated from George Mason University in May 2022. During her four years at Mason, Hadiya majored in Dance and minored in Criminal, Law & Society. She has received Ballet and Modern Dance training from high-level educators such as Susan Shields, Linda Miller, Roger Jeffrey, Christopher D’Amboise, Shaun Boyle D’Arcy, and Karen Reedy. During her time as an undergraduate, she experienced rigorous residencies and performed well-renowned works by Adonis Foniadakis, Rafael Bonachela, Micaela Taylor, and Hope Boykin. Hadiya is also a 2018 alumna of the High School for Performing and Visual Arts where she performed works such as “The Envelope” by David Parsons and “Appalachian Spring” by Martha Graham. In addition to her education, she has studied at the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive, in 2016, and BODYTRAFFIC Virtual Summer Intensive, in 2021. In 2024 she was an understudy in the Moving Forward Collective while also working as Moving Forward’s Marketing Manager. She currently resides in Barcelona, Spain as a freelance dancer and choreographer studying for her master's in Arts and Cultural Management at Barcelona International University of Catalonia. She believes that curating to share stories builds an avenue to allow artists the opportunity they deserve, to free their spirit, and to connect with those around them. . . La clase se divide en dos partes: la primera se trata de preparar el cuerpo físicamente e absorber técnicas y conceptos de hip hop a traves de ejercicios y series de movimiento. En la segunda parte se trabajar con la improvisación de todo lo aprendido en la primera parte y como incorporarlo a su propia danza. Un poco más sobre Anabella Pirosanto : Anabella Pirosanto bailarina, coreografa, docente nacida en Argentina. Descubrió la danza en el 2001 a través del jazz y tap. Luego se introdujo en la danza contemporánea pero, necesitaba empujar mas sus limites físicos y descubrió el hip hop. Estas dos danzas las desarrollo durante mas de 17 años, trabajando en proyectos comerciales como giras con cantantes, programas de tv, haciendo battles internacionales como Bgirl, giras en compañías francesas renombradas como ; cie par Terre, cie Dyptik et Uzumaki. Actualemente con dos proyectos propios ,su solo ¨pas evident¨ y un duo con Jesus Guiraldi ,¨Makinal¨. En todos estos años de experiencia pudo percibir que gracias a la incorporación de diferentes técnicas y estilos su danza y su expresión se había enriquecido mucho y con esta versatilidad se sentía libre a la hora de poder expresar las emociones con el cuerpo, ya que no tenia limites. Este taller plantea conocer a fondo las técnicas del hip hop, breaking y contemporáneo, asi poder desarrollar sus propias danzas a través de la improvisación. . We will explore the body’s natural mechanics, focusing on achieving precision without sacrificing fluidity or expression. Through a series of structured improvisations, physical challenges, acrobatics and detailed movement explorations, participants will unlock a fuller understanding of their own movement potential. The workshop emphasizes the relationship between intention and action, guiding participants to enhance their spatial awareness and articulation while cultivating freedom within structured frameworks. Participants will be encouraged to take risks, explore their individuality, and transform the physical and creative tools shared, into dynamic and expressive movement. Ideal for professional dancers and advanced movers, this workshop provides a platform for growth, experimentation, and artistic discovery, integrating the body’s inherent knowledge with the mind’s creative impulses. Lisard Tranis began his formal dance education at Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, earning a Professional Degree in Contemporary Dance in 2014. He won first prize at the competition “Certamen Internacional de Dansa” of that year, securing a scholarship to Peridance Capezio Center in New York. He later joined “Verve”, the postgraduate performance company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds,UK, where he received the Outstanding Postgraduate Achievement Award in 2015.Since then, Lisard has worked and performed internationally with renowned companies such as Lali Ayguadé, Guy Nader & Maria Campos, Roser Lopez Espinosa, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Hagit Yakira Dance, James Wilton Dance, and Cie. We will approach textiles and upcycling, creative transformation, through a sensitive, creative, and imaginative body in motion.Bring a piece of clothing or a fabric you no longer want. Through it, we will activate questions and, through written stories and dances, we will play with the physicality of a body, in one skin or another, and immerse ourselves in the gesture of weaving and (un)weaving to give a different shape, another body, to what no longer is, to what we no longer want.The transformation will depend on you, on what you wish. All the pieces you bring will be exchanged, undone, torn apart, and will converse… until each person can weave their new skin. .
